This far in advance, do we know if Nico is likely to be Early Entry next Spring?

Might make some difference how soon he might sees the field in '23 games.

I expect Nico to sit year 1 but the question is QB2 or QB3.
I don't mind a stout QB Bench. We're probably going to need one
Sit in favor of who tho? Tayven no more proven than Nico is and certainly not as polished coming out of HS

Why do you think he sits?

They'd be paying him 2 million....to sit.

I think he more than likely sits year 1 unless he is simply better than everyone else. There aren't many true freshman to start in the SEC and those that did, didn't have much individual success. Him sitting and learning for a year would be good for his development imo.

...?
Freshman QBs have been starting in the SEC for a while now. We started 2 ourselves back in 2005?
Bama- Jalen Hurtz, Tua Tagavailoa
UGA- Jake Frohm
Florida- Chris Leak
South Carolina- Bentley
TAM- Manziel
And more. Many more the past 15 years.

And unless we get a transfer veteran guy that's a proven winner, then no I don't see anybody being better than Nico. Heupels offense is very user friendly...i don't think it will take much for him to get up to speed.

The key to my statement was start as a true freshman. I should have include "day 1 starter" bc thats what I was referring to but omitted (my bad). Only Hurts had really good individual success as a true freshman starter (you could make a case for Leak eventho he wasnt a day 1 starter, same with Fromm) in recent years.

With that being said, I'm not disagreeing with you. Nico could definitely come in and be a day 1 starter and kill it from the jump. Our offense is QB friendly so you are right. I just think it's nothing wrong if he were to RS year 1. The data of those QBs who done so have performed heads and shoulders better than those day 1 true freshman in their first year actually on the field (Manziel, Vick, Tebow, Young, Tua, etc)

Garner spoke highly of LaTrells character (“he was raised right”) today, which makes it seem unlikely to be off-the-field issues. Maybe medical that they can’t talk about. Hope he’s back soon.
maybe camp holdout for more money?

No. LaTrell has played with injuries for years. My guess is the medical staff is looking at surgery now or surgery later. Surgery now to play in the fall, or play hurt like he has for years and under perform like usual. That is a guess.
I know he has had a terrible shoulder since his sophomore year and it has held him back constantly, and that knee injury last year.
Take it with a grain of salt. I do not know more than the rest of you. Just taking what is public knowledge and making an educated guess.
