Spring Ball showed me 9 wins for 2018

-I’m not diabetic

-No, you’re not objective, unless you believe your opinion to be infallible

-You mock anyone who doesn’t align with you (maybe you should read better, yeah?)

-The beer analogy is pretty simple, you cued up a cutesy moniker to show the world your love for Butch and non-alcoholic beer - what a fantastic double entendre....

-Only you can keep YOU from sliding.... maybe try using the brake pedal...?

You have no idea what my screen name meant...cuz I didn’t! I needed one and I made one up. I didn’t even have a take on our new coach as of yet. You’re overthinking it ( bet that’s the first time you’ve been accused of that :w00t:)

The rest of your spiel is your lazy outtake from the few posts you’ve actually read from me...yes lazy. With your poor pancreas not producing enough insulin, you can’t be blamed.

I’m wrong frequently and I’ve admitted it when realized. But if I bother posting, I’m confident that I have a reasonable basis. “Anyone that doesn’t agree with me” is pretty broad! I have a lot of posts...you sure you’ve read ALL of them? Be honest. :wink2:

As in the subject matter that got you all diabetic raged up, embrace your powerlessness. We don’t affect the product on the field and YOU don’t affect me. :hi:

Metformin and glipizide.

Why were media and the fanbase expecting a 8 win season last year at this time with a lousy coaching staff, but expecting a worse season this year with major coaching upgrades? Is it the set your expectations so low that a 7 win would be a major accomplishment? If that's the case the fanbase has hit rock bottom not the team.

- And it's not because...we have a bunch of talent. We have "good" talent. It's the improved fundamental across the board I saw. Coaching improvement is already evident.

- Banks and Chryst. Yes London will have a say, but Banks is a future star. Chryst will either win the job OR push Jarret Gaurantano to a knew level.
I saw improved route anticipation in all our QB.

- Defensively...still. a work. But Sapp, Theo Jackson showed starting ability as backups.
But overall the defense showed some speed. Need to get better at point of attack. Bituli and Kirkland will bring the needed juice from the middle.

We showed improvement on offense in our concepts and speed. Banks will bring the power. We already have an idenity. And were not even at full strength. Run to set up the pass. Dobbs basically gave us an identity for 3 years by accident.

So I believe, spring showed that this team has already improved.

We'll able to run the ball.
Can we stop the run?? I believe that will happen when we are full strength defensively. There are 2 teams on our schedule that are just more talented. They're also well coached.

We beat Florida
West Virgina and
Missouri all because we will be able to handle their line of scrimmage...both sides.
Little vol, with most people in disbelief, just remember one thing, Smart can’t beat Pruitt. That my friend where we will steal a game, because my belief is, Pruit is smarter than Smart.:):clapping:

I see 3 wins, a hand full of mid card toss ups, 1 highly unlikely, and 1 near impossible.

I do not see 9 wins from that.

If CJP pulls that off he’ll be coach of the year and possibly UTs savior. Who knows what year 2s potential would be.

Were you at the 2016 Florida game? Florida didn’t do a damn thing in the second half. We beat OU in 2015 because of Neyalnd stadium. Even though we lost(because of Butch). Mayfield said that was the loudest most electric stadium he had ever seen and ever will see.

“Loudest and most electric stadium”.....and yet we lost. So you just proved Butchna’s point and invalidated your own.

Not at all. If that game was played in Norman with Jones coaching, we lose by 17+.

Anyways my original point was people need to believe Tennessee will be good. I didn’t mean to go down the crowd noise path.

You got off track jumping on the theory that we matter. Coaches and players win...we make noise.

And Mayfield’s production in the second half (and our collapse) had nothing to do with it? Did we not do something in the second half that was done in the first half? No, I wasn’t at the Florida game...watched our players not get it done in the first and dominate in the second. Crowd had no bearing...Jauan Jennings did. Once again...noise.

The defense and offense ran out of gas, everyone could see it, leading to Butch to panic, they still couldn’t see themselves as a winning team. When they could have used a calm and steady hand, it seamed like CBJ panicked and it bleed on down to the team. IMO.

That’s not what I said.

Yeah you did. Sanford is right on the field LOUD! Dobbs had to use hand signals all game long. Won anyway. Fans didn’t stop him. Talent and coaching...there, said it for ya!

Shouldn’t have mattered. WE should have carried them. :)

Problem is...when your team stinks, all you see is their problems and deficiencies.

UGA and Bama are the most talented and balanced teams. Auburn gets the nod over TN as well.

But the other 9 teams we play...are NOT more talented than is. Equal to? Sure...

So I'm saying...we have a chance in 9 of our twelve games. And in those 9 games we have the better coaching staff each game

How many of those other 9 opponents have entirely new coaching staffs, and are installing new systems on both sides of the ball? One, Florida, and whether you want to admit it or not, they do out talent us at the moment.

You are setting yourself up for collosal disappointment if you are expecting 9 wins in this scenario.

Because of what kind of shape Butch left this program in. The team is lazy, soft, weak, poor tacklers, undisciplined and worst of all woefully undeveloped. Add all of that to the entire new coaching staff and schemes on both sides of the ball and you get why a 7 win season would be a huge success this year.

Collosal disappointment was a 9 win caliber team going 4-8.

What happened as a result of that? Butch was fired.

Florida is more talented than us? Doubt it.
Vandy? No.
Kentucky? No.
West Virginia?...no.
Missouri? No.

The SEC is top heavy imo.

UGA and Bama. Auburn, LSU, Texas AM and South Carolina are all dangerous teams....

Then there is US. And I think we split Auburn and South Carolina.

I don't give damn about LAST year.
In the Spring I saw our 4 star QB improve. I saw 2 capable RBs that both can line up in the slot.
I saw skilled route running and great route concepts.

I saw a team...constantly getting coached. And I saw a better product than we had at anytime last year...and that was without

T Smith
D Bituli
D Kirkland
J Jennings

We're not some Playoff Darkhorse. As a matter of fact...i think 2019 will be a 7 wins season.
2020 is when we will really start to see the fruits of this staff's labor.

Butch Jones didn't tank this team in a single season, and Jeremy Pruitt is not going to rebuild it in 9 months. There's a reason most new HC's show the most improvement in year two.

Keep chipping at that rock.

So many are so glad the Butch is gone due to his coaching, schemes and game plans.

CJP is coming in and changing the schemes and game plans. Will there be a curve on running them to perfection? Sure. These changes alone nets us those 5 extra wins compared to last year.

Too many have bought into the idea that this year is a continuation of last year. It just isn't.

CJP won't make it easy to figure out what we will be doing.

Against SC on the last play Butch said everybody knew what was coming. Like he was proud of that.

I doubt if CJP's game plan will be so simple that we all know what's coming.

It's not nuts to expect to beat the teams with equal or less talent. It's not nuts to expect us to play over our heads a game or two either.

This will be a fun and exciting season. I'm glad our team has this summer to get ready for this fall.

Go Vols!
