Why couldn’t Heupel let Hooker break Mannings record? All he needed was 7 yards. 7!!! I could have understood if were another 30 or so but 7? Man on our last offensive possession, Heup should have let Hooker throw.

LOVE :) to see the big guys in the trenches receive credit, for they are often as talented athletically as the superstars in the backfield. Congrats Mr. Spraggins and proud of you for having such a fine year!

That fourth down call passing short of the sticks…should have used the middle of the field lol

I'm willing to bet Heupel & Co. knew nothing about this record being within range until well after the game was over.

Didn't hear a soul talk about it before the game, or during the game, or even after the game until today, when the statisticians had time to update all the spread sheets to see what would pop out.

You might be right. I still thought Heupel should have went for the jugular on our last possession. Had he done that, Hooker would have had the record.

Our last possession Heupel's play calling was not bad but abysmal. The stuff of peewee football play calling unworthy of an SEC coach. Hope he learned his lesson, keep in mind he was helped by a penalty on the gatas in there as well and could have easily lost the game for us singlehandedly.

Me and my best friend were livid. We were like this is Florida, get as many points as you can. Because he had to notice our defense could not stop them. His bad play calling almost cost us that game. I don’t have an issue playing conservative against teams like Akron or Ball State. You don’t do that against a team like Florida. I mean he did the same thing against SC last year. We could have hung at least 60 on them. But he decided to go full Butch Jones. For me when you play an SEC team, you beat them as badly as you can. I sure hope Heup has learned his lesson.

People said the same thing when Majors pulled Chuck Webb against Ole Sis in Neyland when Webb had 297 yds rushing.
I hope Heupel and the staff are focused on what's happening on the field and not on statistics. I also doubt they knew about it, nor should they, as they have a game to coach.
The graphic that he was just short of Manning ran during the broadcast in the fourth quarter, by the way.

I had to triple check and I did not see this posted yet. Hendon Hooker earned SEC Offensive player of the week honors. Javontez Spraggins earned honors for SEC offensive lineman of the week. Congratulations and GO VOLS!
