Spot On analogy By John Adams

Here is the deal. Our coach takes into account a player and his family in the big picture of things. Usually a player and his family (see RF) think they should be playing ahead of whoever is ahead of them. Its called Daddy ball. Im not talking about those type of requests. In Dobbs case, by several accounts, his family wanted him to take a redshirt last year but we know that ended up not being possible; so last years redshirt became this years especially with Justin's progression. IF Worley had stayed healthly enough to finish the season Coach was going to honor that request. But when Justin got hurt and it became obvious he was out for awhile, Coach went to the parents and got their permission to burn the redshirt for the good of the team. They definitely needed Josh this year. So I applaud our coach for being honest with the parents and keeping them in the loop, or at least so it seems. Might account for why he is so successful recruiting.
So John Adams go climb in a hole and bury yourself with the same horse manure you write. You will use every opportunity to tear the Vol Program down. Every time. Any high school journalism student could have written that article today.

Never heard Adams mention starting Dobbs ever all season. Looks like he thought Worley was the right choice too.

You hit the nail on the head! He writes these stupid articles that can not be proved or disproved and a lot of gullible fans pad his pockets and spout bull! Josh Dobb's did a good job last night but he is not perfect!

As I said in another thread, there is a reason why CBJ is a Division I coach and Adams along with some posters on here is not!!

:loco:

Calm down!!! fire people? huh. butch has done more in the last two years from a rebuilding standpoint than either of the two clowns prior.

guys lemme give it to you straight. we let fulmer go, which was a mistake. we hired Bozo and Cookie susequently. Our vaunted football program was a hobbling sideways trainwreck with 0 talent. 0. Our own players were telling recruits to go elsehwhere. least they were asking why they wanted to play for dewls.

we are fine. we need a qb and some quality depth. we lost it all on offense last year. be patient. our d ia already vastly improved.

btw. i dont give John Adams one ounce of credit. that pompous, self promoter isnt worth tbe powder to blow his ass up.

If Dobbs had played poorly, he would written that Butch should have stayed with Peterman and not burned Dobbs'' redshirt year. Writers got it made--they get to second guess any decision they want, and they aren't ever wrong

Well that would be just about anyone in the media.

It always cracks me up when reading on here the posters that get their panties in a wad when the media types pick Utah St. over UT and demand accountability. However, when someone picks UT over Bama, that person "gets it" and is immune to such accountability.

So easy to sit back, criticize and be a Monday morning coach. Just another idiotic media personality with spectacular hindsight. I wonder why he is not a head coach at a major D1 school?

I agree. It seems like everybody has the anwser on Sundays. Now come next wk if Dobbs gets the start and struggles everyone going to be saying why didn't he play Worley.

Who could have figured out the reaction?

Someone in the media says something bad about Jones and the fan club comes to the rescue

Hey, Jones isn't perfect and he will never be perfect, but Adams is just pointing out what's obvious to everyone other than the orange clad mob

He may be a tool most of the time, but he's correct on this one

Funny to see some of these post also frustrating and hypocritical.... Dobbs and Butch agreed it would be best to save him for the next 3 years and the only way they would blow his redshirt is if this happened..

This was probably the most unlikely thread title anywhere, not just VN. I can't remember when he started at the News Sentinel (don't remember what they call it now), but he was awful from the get-go. And I thought that he was supposed to be an Auburn homer, not an LSU homer?

--Count, I suppose that if you're correct, this effort by Adams would fall in the category of even a blind squirrel finding a nut once in a while.

Didn't click his link.

Blew what exactly? Since we're exactly where everybody thought we'd be right now.

JA is a future Finebaumer in my opinion.

OK.. I gotta ask. I live in FL, and never heard of this Finebaum assclown until I saw that he has about 15 hours a day on the SEC network. Who is this guy, and who's wife does he have naked pictures of to get his own TV show?

Other reporters are reporting that it was clear why Dobbs was 3rd string and that he played better than expected against Bama. As crappy as Bajakian is calling plays this year without a mobile QB I highly doubt they intentionally held out Cam Newton's second cousin if that's what it looked like in practice.

Dobbs has looked like crap in practice. Not sure why people keep missing this point. Every. single. beat writer for Tennessee has said it over and over again, and those are the guys at practice almost every day.

Hindsight is 20/20, but it still looks like he might have been wrong

Yes, the diehards say, we are fine, all is well, Jones knows exactly what he's doing, makes no mistakes, everybody on the train, turning the corner, we're coming, maybe a year from a national title, UT is a juggernaut....just as soon as we can figure out how to win one conference game.

He's correct....and I don't mind Adams but hindsight is 20/20.

With that said, it does make you wonder. Butch can certainly recruit, but can he coach? We'll find out in the next 4 games.

Will be interesting over the next 4, but we already have almost 20 examples of his SEC game coaching to consider.

has looked terrible at practice and Peterman, conversely, has been brilliant. I call BS. Players are players--they don't suddenly become different players when a game starts.

But keep in mind that reporters are allowed to see only a limited amount of practice.
