I get a kick out of reading sports writers when they try to explain how a team won that they predicted would lose. They spend 5 paragraphs explaining what happened when they could sum it up in one sentence.
I was WRONG and I really don't know as much as I act like I do!

A lot of people on this board could say the same thing.

I see a lot of sports writers using the same kind of faulty logic that is frequently used on this board ... It goes something like: Kentucky beat Florida on the road, Florida beat the hell out of Tennessee on the road and so that must mean that Kentucky will do the same. It just doesn't work that way.

What about transitive property?

I'm gonna be so stoked if we beat Mizzou and Vandy.

Some positive momentum for next year, and a chance to end on a high note for the seniors.

Me too. After the Charlotte game, I wasn’t sure that we’d sniff another win.

Kentucky will finish 9-3 2nd in the East and possibly 10-3 with a bowl victory....they had one of those Dan Mullen/MissSt blue moon seasons were they become relevant for a season then fall down to average at best.....either way they’ve accomplished what they did and we beat them soundly.

The group think among sportswriters is really astonishing. For the most part, there is a narrative that arises and that defines the players/team/coach and it is virtually impossible to shake them from it. Kentucky has some great players and is having a great season, but only Alabama seems to be exempt from the "any given Saturday" pattern that has arisen in the SEC.

The number of people who always predict UT to win and are wrong is much greater than the number of people who always predict UT to lose and are wrong, once you factor out the cupcake games that everyone agrees UT will win.

Was watching SEC now Sunday and these stats stood out to me:

1. This was the first UT win over a ranked opponent in November since Miami in 2003.
2. Out of the last 45 matchups UT has had against ranked opponents, they’ve only won 5 games. And Pruitt has 2 of those 5. (Could be misremembering the total number of games against ranked teams)

Those stats are just mind blowing. Really tells the story of how bad TN has been over the last decade.
