Knoxville sports talk is the worst that I have heard anywhere in this nation. It is like everyone wants to get into sports talk radio. Every one of the talk hosts sounds like a rank amateur on their best days.

I like Knoxville sports radio! In fact, I don't like the sports talk anywhere else I've lived and I'm very glad that I can now stream Knoxville radio over the internet. I can understand why someone who is not a UT fan wouldn't like the radio around here, but for those of us who want UT sports all the time it is great. JMO

The only sports talk show that is on there now is the one with Dave Hooker and Terry Fair and its on between 3 and 6. They will be competing directly with John and Jimmy on 99.3, Straight Talk Sports on 106.3 out of Sevierville, and Finebaum on 1180am.

Primetime with the PacMan is the best sports show in the land...you can listen live thru AOL radio. It's a station out of Charlotte.
I live in Upstate SC and even the local sports talk here is way better than that crap in K-town...

BUT they are not going to be talking about the things I want to hear... UT sports, UT sports, and MORE UT sports!

Anything that takes listeners away from Basilio is a win imo

fool, basilio is 1000x time better than jimmy. that guy has no passion and excitement for UT sports. he's no different than those recorded messages that replay the weather. Tony is at least passionate about UT and he allows the callers to give their opinion.

I listen to knox radio over the internet during florida week. It's bad and it has nothing to do with the opinions.

They all let these 80 year old callers (who live up to every negative stereotype) on the air and won't hang up on them, no matter how long they ramble or flirt with the morning chick.

Even though there two or three on the radio show, they are constantly having to "look it up" to make sure that what they state as fact is actually correct.

I find it comical

They do a little bit..however, I would rather listen to it and than that bland, vanilla crap in Knoxville. As I mentioned before, even the local here covering Clemson is WAY better. By that I mean, their insight, opinions, and on conversations with callers, etc. is just flat out better. The way they break everything down and they are very subjective in their opinions. The guys in Knoxville are too non-committal and not at all entertaining. JMHO..

At least you get to listen to UT sports talk. Try coming down to Chattanooga where the only sports info you will hear is, "big fish", Georgia Football, Alabama football, Nascar, Bradley County wrestling, and Chattanooga Lookouts. It is torture listening to those bumbling idiots.

Some of these other stations may be "more entertaining" and the host may be "more subjective" BUT opinions are like A-holes, we all have them. I'm not so interested in some off the wall opinion or crazy predictions (such as Basilio) which are not based in any kind of reality. Call me old fashion, but what I'm most interested in is information about my favorite team!

Agree about Primetime. However, I live in upstate SC and WCCP is the worst sports radio I've ever heard. Basilio is better than any of those WCCP shows. Just my .02.

You must hate the Animal then. They never provide entertainment or info.

and with Hymans you get all that UT golf and tennis talk. How exciting. John will add his occasional "Ok" and you get all those interviews with people I have never heard of. Basilio gets it. He is a fan, and comes at it from a fan's point of view. And above all, Basilio is a UT fan, not a LSU fan!

If you are interested in information, you are going to get that more from an "outsider" like Hymns (who sees himself first and foremost as an impartial journalist) than from a self proclaimed "homer."

I have been looking hard for Podcasts as of late, and note that there is no Tennessee oriented one. Been looking into starting one.... or at least hoping someone would.

I like the sport talk in Chattanooga. With Quake and Doc. I dont really listen to any other sports radio though, so my opinion is biased.
