Sports Talk in Chatanooga reveals "Big Fish" (rumor)

1. I think anyone who brings up Boyd should be banned!! That issue is dead.

2. I believe his talents out way how tall he is. I'd rather have bray but BB would help us in the short and long run.

3A. Short: gets us top recruits because we have a name/face for this pledge class.

3B. Long: we can slowly get a foot in the door with memphis. If he does anything it will help the memphis connection and the fence around Tenn. Thing.

All in all a '11 QB will beat him out down the road.

I will never understand how adding an extra dimension to a players game can possibly hurt, and the only time i see that reasoning used is at QB.

If they guy can throw/make decisions well then he'll be fine, and I'd rather him run a 4.7 than a 5.1 no matter what "offense" we're trying to run. The only issue I could see is his height in a 3 step drop/under center offense, but Lamaison isn't going to be much different...

Rozier could be ok, but I am not resting my hopes on a walkon until I see it myself. And I am curious as to why Bray's offer list is so lackluster.

outweigh? :dunno:

This has all been very dissapointing. Brunetti is not what we need for this system.

Its not like we are overloaded on our QB depth chart and can't afford to give Brunetti a shot. Who knows, he could turn to be a very good college QB.

Someone rated as highly as him is worth a scholarship, even if he won't be a 3-year starter. Especially with our current QB situation.

Anybody that does not like Brunetti is crazy. This kid is a stud and will get other great players to come to UT. I love that the kid a pass first QB but has the ability to run also.

Thats true. It's still unclear to me as to what the "perfect QB for our system" is. He may develop into the perfect fit

this is a little bit ridiculous, everyone is bashing him when they should all take him in a heartbeat. Everyone complained when tajh was let go, and now don't want brunetti. who says he is not the next great QB at tennessee. I grew up in buckeye country and this kid reminds me of a QB they had by the name of Troy Smith. Oh but who the heck would want a guy like that right.

when i first heard, i thought Kiffin was just trying to get him to "build the fence around tennessee" but from Kiffin's approach, he wouldn't take someone he wouldn't use. brunetti may get outshined by an '11 recruit, or he may be the next Clausen or Ainge, running an offense that actually moves the ball

I hope they know what they're talking about better than the folks on the Sports Animal in Knoxville. This morning, the chick was trying to explain why Markeith Ambles moved high schools. She said that it was because his last high school had a spread offense, and "no WRs want to be in a spread offense."
I'm pretty positive she has no idea what that means. I'm guessing she was thinking of a spread option.
I think Michael Crabtree was okay with his Spread offense.

lets see what he does against good corners:mf_surrender:

Don't know I call this Big Fish. I have no way of knowing if he would be the man to take the keys of this program for 3 to 4 years but I wish him whale!

Agreed. Myself, I would rather have a dual threat guy, a good QB has to have some mobility to get away from DE,DT, and LBs...Brunetti may not be very big but they can use him on the rollout...Even if he isn't a starter right away he does add depth to the QB position for next year, which IMO next year we will need it more than we do this year

Ok i hope we dont overload with QBs, we need Teddy Bridgewater next year!!

Bridgewater won't be scared of any of our QBs, that's for damn sure. Second, I'll believe this rumor when I hear Brunetti publicly commit. I think there is a chance we can turn him by NSD but I don't think it will happen soon.

Thought I heard on the radio today that it was either A) as many on here say Brunetti, or B)Chase Rettig...I'd be happy with either of those guys

You people are nuts if you don't want Brunnetti. I'm sorry but half of you were drooling over Rettig who isn't nearly the talent Brunnetti is.

i will trust in CLK until proven otherwise. no way we will have any idea who is "right for the system" for quite some time. mobile qbs work great in prostyle offenses (mcnabb, mcnair, tee martin, shuler, troy smith comparison is great here.) i also think it is unfair to question the brunetti offer in light of the tajh boyd situation. Kiffin and co. did not like boyd, plain and simple. i will trust their talent evaluation

I would love to have Brunetti, but I personally don't believe the guys in Chattanooga. I think Brunetti is still strong to West Virginia.

jmo... but if our offensive line is as bad as everyone expects next season, me might need a QB who can move to give our guys a little time to get open.
