What's the difference between these stations? So if the bball schedule says sportssouth then it's not FSN? How can I get it or watch on the net?

FSN is Fox sports Net. Sports south is Fox sports south or just SS on Direct TV

So how can I get it because Sports south isn't offered where I live and there's no way I'm going to miss UT bball games.

FSN = the national network. FSN South = FSS or SportsSouth

Not exactly right . . . FSN South is not SportSouth.

There is no national FSN channel, It's a bunch of regional channels that sometimes carry FSN national programming . . . one of which is FSN South. Sportsouth is the new name for what used to be Turner South.

FSN is Fox Sports Network. Fox Sports South is same network but South region. However, Turner Sportsouth is a Turner network, totally different.

I think Fox Sportsouth dropped the Sportsouth name completely a couple of years ago and is now just FSN South.

Well I can get FSN but not sportssouth. 5 minutes down the road they can get it, but not here. How can I get it because I'm not missing any UT bball games this year.

Sounds like you need to find a friend 5 minutes down the road.

You're right. The actual name of the regional station is FSN South but a lot of people nickname it Fox Sports South. Still, the network in question is Turner Sportsouth.

Fox bought the OLD Sportsouth channel many years ago and changed its name to Fox Sports Net South or FSN - South

Fox bought Turner South just last year and now calls it Fox SportSouth.

They are two seperate channels, both owned by Fox Sports and show many of the same filler programs.

I watched the temple game on ESPN360.com but that's only if you're internet provider subscribes to it. I have AT&T Yahoo as a provider and they subscribe to it. And it was free.

If this helps anyone, I have DirecTV. Fox SportSouth is channel 630. Sports South is channel 631. Even before I had satellite, every cable company that I used carried both channels. Just look for them.
