I have never seen a city with so many people with their own sports talk radio shows or TV sports shows as Knoxville. The problem is that none of the are good.

It's as if any Joe blow can have his own radio or tv show and then act like experts on UT sports.

Nah....Pennington is by far the biggest douche in the local media. He was instigating the BBB crap on the show half way through the SEC season when it looked like there was no way UT would make the tourney. Mentioned the petition several different shows. Said that in no way that CCM would or should retain his job at the end of the year. Then after the sweet rips the fans for not supporting CCM. Big time Douche!!!!

Correct, and Pennington got his sit down or will with DT as well I believe. Tyndall is doing a media tour and anyone who puts a request in is getting a time slot, it's how basilio got him.

There is no way to compare kind of stats between 6 years at Morehead State vs 3 years at Tennessee. There are way to much difference in the talent level of players and opponents. The only true comparison imo would be the coaches won loss records.

Now you are zoning in on the issue. Caught the show after going to early church services. This was clearly skewed by Pennington to give the result he wanted. He used CDT's 8 year career at two lesser schools that played bad basketball before he got there. He separated Pearl's tenure at UT and did not included his previous stops. He did not show Zo's previous stop at Mo. State. It was as ridiculous a segment as he has ever broadcast.

The discussion on uptempo versus reality that he was going after is resolved in one statement. Boring versus active basketball. The scores have little to do with it as long as they hit 60 or more of offense. There will be an appearance of a highly active team due to the use of the press on defense and the Kansas style motion offense. That will satisfy the vast majority of UT fans. But then Pennington could not have used his useless stats.

His show used to be good but lately for whatever reason he's so down on UT and the fan base. He's such a downer he makes John Adams look like the head cheerleader around here.

I think you are wrong about Pearls first 3 years. If he was showing Pearl's first 3 and last 3 why did he not combine them like he did Tyndall's. it was not fair in any way.

He did show martin's fist 3 years. It was a very thorough
piece. Need to watch the whole thing.

I have not researched in depth but I would think if he actually gave a fair comparison Martin would not look as good and Tyndall would look better. It is difficult to give any type of fair comparison using 6 years at Morehead State plus 2 years at Southern Mississippi vs 3 years at TN.

Just looking at a w-l record for the last 3 years Tyndall is 74-31(70 5%), Martin 63 - 41 (60.6%) and Pearl 68 - 37 (64.8%).

Local sports journalism (term used very loosely) is absolutely awful. Nowadays, Dave Hooker's show is the only one I can listen to.

Laughable that you post quotes from Basilio's Saturday night show and then say he is worse than Tony. I will keep an out for your Pennington quotes.
