Sports Animal saying: We Told You So

She's spot on with Gruden, I knew that before this search.

If Schiano was our 6-7th choice, then Currie had an idiotic list. Who was he targeting Belichick, Parcels and Saban?

No way 6+ reasonable choices turn us down.

Yes they would please take off orange shades.

Yes they would please take off orange shades.

So prior to this fiasco, you think Miles, Pruitt, Venables, Norvell would not even take our call?

I don't buy it. I think Haslam had Currie focused on Schiano early. It appeared (from outside looking in) that there was a lack of urgency typically associated with having your pick locked down early.

Only thing that makes this job less attractive is having to work for the nimrods in the UTAD.. In fact i'd say that has way more to do with the fact we can't seem to get a real coach here..

This.. The word is out and the word is Haslam....

Any competent AD could have hired a search firm and landed Venables.

Norvell? Piece of cake. Brohm?

The ONE that would set this thing nuclear was Schiano.

Currie's been too busy playing tiddly winks to worry about who would be a good coach here.

Why would anybody listen to state run radio ? There's never news coming from there only repeating of what others have already reported. Sounds like they are trying to down play the university that they are supposed to cover.

I have no doubt Gruden was the top choice but that was a pipe dream so Mullen was the fallback guy but Kelly going to UCLA threw a wrench into the process. Currie and Haslem went to their fallback guy who was Schiano.

For first time in years, I tuned into WNML morning show today at 6am to see what they said about Schiano.
HH said that she thinks we were turned down by our top choices and that Schiano was 6Th or 7th on Curries list because this isn’t considered a good job nationally and good coaches don’t want to come to UT any longer.
She also said that she is so proud that her station is the only one that has told the truth about Gruden.
That he was never coming here and is an attention whore.

She can go to hell. Even a blind man could see that Mullen was Currie and Haslam's man all along, and when he backed out, they went straight to Schiano. They blatantly lied to not only our great fanbase, but also went behind the backs of many boosters both mid and high level to execute the hiring of Greg Schiano, and for that they should have no place at Tennessee. Jimmy Haslam is a cancer to Tennessee football, and he must go.

It doesn't matter. Most people when they hear something they don't like they call it fake news now. Truth, no matter if it is objective or subjective, doesn't matter anymore. It only matters if it is what you want to hear. This board is so guilty of this (especially the Gruden posters).

We love the Vols. We know our history and traditions. We know all about how for decades we were a threat to anyone. Times have changed! At least I believe for others! Not us though. We BLEED ORANGE. We have everything going for us. No need to list them you know what UT has to offer. Fulmer put his heart and soul into this program. I was as heartbroken then as I was when Jerry Jones shoved out Landry. Dispite the direction at the time I think certain Coaches should of had the right to leave on their terms especially Fulmer. He gave most of his life to us. But he did it because HE LOVED TENNESSEE! Not everyone feels the way we do. No. Not everyone.

That Gruden was never coming here.
That many people would not consider Tennessee a top job.

Ah, good to know.

I told you so = I think.

It's funny to me how so many people "know" what it's not, but yet no one "knows" what it is. Except a cluster fork.

BTW, I have no clue as to either.
