For first time in years, I tuned into WNML morning show today at 6am to see what they said about Schiano.
HH said that she thinks we were turned down by our top choices and that Schiano was 6Th or 7th on Curries list because this isn’t considered a good job nationally and good coaches don’t want to come to UT any longer.
She also said that she is so proud that her station is the only one that has told the truth about Gruden.
That he was never coming here and is an attention whore.

Do people get pretty good money for just making up stuff? Just wondering. Because honestly, they're just making this up. It's an embarrassment to what used to be a hard working profession.

I've known its not a place for top coaches for years.
Coaches say fans are to crazy but with that said its no worse than Gators

Only thing that makes this job less attractive is having to work for the nimrods in the UTAD.. In fact i'd say that has way more to do with the fact we can't seem to get a real coach here..

Currie bought into the Gruden BS and got caught with his pants down, just like in 2012 with Dave Hart. Gruden should never be mentioned in the same sentence as UT again, he loves the attention and nothing more.

And besides all that you said........he is a TV personality, not a coach.

Not sure he did because it sounds like now the reports that he merely gave Gruden a token interview were true.

Any competent AD could have hired a search firm and landed Venables.

Norvell? Piece of cake. Brohm?

The ONE that would set this thing nuclear was Schiano.

Mature response. That being said, the grave yard is full of people who knew that JG was not coming to UT. That would require him to put up or shut up.

I don't care if it's a mature response for not. Dancing on the grave of the athletic dept that paid for her education is the definition of classless. That whole station can go under for all I care.

It never was Gruden. It has only been Schiano the whole time. This whole debacle has Haslam written all over it. He wanted Schiano back in 2014 for the Browns. That's why this whole fiasco has been so laid back for Currie. He only had Schiano is mind. Reason why no search firm, trip to Bahamas, etc. it blew up in his face because wasn't expecting the blowback. Only wanted Schiano from the get go. Anything tied to the Browns organization is guaranteed to be a failure. Until he is out of the picture there is no way a good hire can be made. Currie, Davenport both yes people. Should have been Blackburn the whole time but evil $$$ had corrupted UT.

WNML is utterly awful. Where else could a local sports station survive by matching poor analysis with pure contempt for their audience? In Gainesville, they would have been burned to the ground long ago.

I turned them on for 5 minutes last night just to hear what was being said. The two dullards on there were saying that the administration shouldn't back down from the Schiano hire because they wouldn't want to "empower" the fans. Then they said if the Schiano deal fell through, they should just give the job to Kevin Steele because the fans would accept anyone at this point.

They love to peddle this notion that UT is an inferior job that no good coach would want. Even when we're not hiring, it's a constant theme. So of course they want to tell us that all these guys turned us down. But think about it for a minute. This is an AD who gave Schiano the job without even looking into his job history or even recent news stories about him. Do you really think that is an AD who really did his due diligence in pursuing the big name guys? I don't.

She's spot on with Gruden, I knew that before this search.

If Schiano was our 6-7th choice, then Currie had an idiotic list. Who was he targeting Belichick, Parcels and Saban?

No way 6+ reasonable choices turn us down.
