As a Titans fan, I can tell you that Schwartz will probably frustrate you some.
The titan's fans call him "statistical jim," (or chief red hat) because of his tendency to play the percentages. He is an avid chess player who got his Masters in Econ from Georgetown. This means he will play off on 3rd down alot, as he doesn't want to give up the first on a blitz.
Some Titans fans also criticize him saying that he is AMAZING when he has the right players in his scheme - like he has now, and like he had in 2000 and 2003, but when he doesn't, he still runs basically the same scheme, and it gets picked apart. He relies very heavily on pressure from the front 4, and very rarely blitzes his LBs. He will occasionally blitz them (especially on run blitzes) in the early downs, but very rarely on 3rd down. But if the DL can't consistently get pressure with the front 4, then his defense is not very good.
I don't think it would translate well into CFB. Unless you can just get a slew of really, really talented DLineman, I don't think it would work too well. Plus, most of his defensive players have been in his system for a while, so they know it inside and out, which helps immensely. In college, you don't really have time to do those kinds of things.
I don't think he will be the Vol HC, but if he was, you guys would be all over him the first time we give up a 3rd and long. However, he isn't as bad as Chavis is, where he will jump into the Prevent on every down once we have the lead.
