This was one of the most anticipation filled pre-seasons in quite a while on Rocky Top. A lot of discussion about how this season could unfold took place before the first snap and continues still.

The majority of fans, including those that are tagged as "Nega-Vols" by many members of VolNation, were mostly in agreement that a 2-2 split of the 4 game stretch would be the expectation. Most of the same members said that anything better than 2-2 would be a success and anything less would be failure.

With 2 games of the 4 game stretch completed and a guarantee of no worse than a 2-2 split delivered, have expectations changed? Do the negative posts decrease, at least for the next 2 games, now that pre-season expectations for these 4 games have been met?

For the record, my prediction for the next 2 games is wgwtfa.

Nope. I think in that regard we were dead on in the off season. (that's something of a miracle in it's own right) I don't think we've played well enough on the whole to feel that confident about the next two weeks. That said, they've done it when they really needed to. One thing is for sure. They're not going into either of these games and backing down

At season's start my prediction was, as you stated, similiar to most of the fanbase. 10-2 and win the East. So if we can make that happen, I'll be pleased regardless. With that said, I don't think it's too unreasonable to refocus our goals from simplly winning the East to winning the SECCG and a potential playoff birth.

Most negativity will die down unless UT Gets completely blown out. My only negative is sloppy gameplay (turnovers). This is happening in every game.

I think we beat the Aggies and lose a close one at Neyland to The tide and then beat them by >7 points in the SECCG. GBO!! When two teams are really good, hard to best them two in a row, Id rather take the SECCG and get to the playoffs than beat them at Neyland and lose in ATL.

Yep. Looking more and more like 1998. Ugly wins. Sloppy play. Luck shining down on us. Big plays when needed the most.

That year turned out pretty good. Hope we can repeat it. :)

I for one am tired of WGWTFA. We are winning and the 2-2 was and is realistic. We have whopped no one's azz (maybe VT). Beaten them, yes. Save this bull---- until you can say WWTFA.
