What .....did she look like a mongoose?
Hell naw!! She could had passed as white, my mother told me when they were traveling through Ky on the to Indinapolis a car load of white boys pulled up beside them and started yelling ****** lover at my granny. She chuckled and said I is a nigga. Even black people in my mothers home town would call her a half white so n so. And she would say and yeah I can get in a hell of a lot more places than your black ass can.

The "half-white" or "near white" comes from having a white father and a black mother. Happened on my Grandma's side. Basically speaking, two dark skinned blacks will not make a light skinned or "half -white" baby. When ever your see some "light" skin, some white done been in. The only question is whether the baby is from a mixed couple (one w parent, one b parent), or is the white mixed in further back. There is a different look to the two.Hats off to your granny coach.
You will have to excuse my ignorance on this but was her skin color different do to "white " in her blood or was it like a just a heredity issue. I have friends that are of all colors and always wondered this.
Example: my friend earl and his wife are black. All 3 of there kids are lighter than both parents.
And my next question is all the blacks that would bad mouth your granny from being real light skinned, do you think they hold the same opinion of obama for being mixed ?
No offense meant by any oc my questions. I tried my best to word them correctly

Albino ism would still be possible. Even with two full blooded blacks. As generations pass, the kids get "lighter", or at least stay "light". My granny was light as were two of her three sisters. Two of my granny's kids were light like her even though my grandad was dark. My mom was really light, and I was relatively light. Even though my wife is darker than me, two of our 3 are lighter than my wife is. All that to say that once white is in you it is in you. And having white in you is the only way to have "light skinned" black people. Two African parents are not making a light, bright, and damn near white baby.
