watching the alabama & lsu game you cant help but notice the speed on defense. whether it is coaching or the personnel we have a long way to go.

Yes truth is you can never enough---straight line speed is great but play making ability has to go along with it. If I could clone CP I would.

I recall Johnny used to bring in a lot of fast players...told em they would play receiver. Once on campus, most of them went straight to the D side of the ball. And that usually worked well, except his O was never too strong. But he could manage a very good defensive game.

If we had more speed and maturity in the secondary out would be very good.. Would free up the rest of our d to make plays.. They r too much of a liability now.. Hurts production at other positions.

All the fast rb lb wr are goin to other schools where they get playing time, recruits say it every day, they want to play and not compete for 3 years against others just as fast, I'll take Troy over UT as a fast wr as long as they let me play every game .

I used to fuss about Chavis converting safeties to linebackers and they seemed too small ... but they were fast.

Miami perfected that back in the '80's.

Oversized LB = Fast DE
Oversized DE= Fast DT
Oversized Safety = Fast LB

UT and other programs caught on and it worked. Wasn't Al Wilson a RB in HS?
