Botch gave in to similar fanbase/QB misery and benched Worley for Peterman? How'd that turn out?

JG's no Iceman, Tee, Dobbs nor even Ainge, but he gives us our best chance to win...or he wouldn't be playing.

Y'all think he's got pix of CJP with a goat or something and that's why he starts? CJP doesn't owe JG anything - he's Botch's recruit. If the backups were sort of close, CJP would start them every game for the rest of the season to build experience for next year.

Maybe JG just needs to come off the bench...whatever, but he's the best chance we've got to win games.

Last time I checked Peterman went on to Pitt and had a good college career that put him in the NFL.

You ignorant!!
Remember Peterman did fine at Pitt, been in the NFL, Where’s Worley been?
Maybe botch couldn’t make an offensive plan for Peterman to succeed.
Remember Hiesman winners Mayfield, Burrow? Didn’t win at their first schools cause they didn’t get a chance! Dumb coaches kicking their selves now I bet!!

Remember that time Jones finally had no choice but to put Dobbs in due to Worleys injury? Or the time Dooley benched Simms for Tyler Bray? Or when Fulmer finally had seen enough of Matthews and Suggs?

OP, I get what you're saying ... but ... in my opinion, JG is going to start thru Bama. I do believe we'll see someone, whoever is CJP is going to go to next, get some work against UK and then after Bama, during open week they will work to get them going. I believe we'll have a new starter for the second half of the season.

Remember when Bobby Bouche showed up at halftime ........... 🤔 wait.

Sorry.... got lost in the moment.

I do however remember Pruitt making a switch last year and that move more than likely saved his job because that guy wasn’t as bad as advertised. JG would’ve gotten crushed by UGA last year as we seen this past weekend. He helped win a MSU game that was already pumped full of energy by the guy that’s “not good enough”. And We were toe to toe with Alabama with someone that obviously doesn’t deserve to be developed. If every statement I just made is true..... convince me Pruitts qb “evaluation” is about winning games and not personal.

Yeah. It's pretty obvious what Pruitt is doing imo.
He saw what starting a true freshman against a top SEC defense could potentially do, so he didn't make same choice this year.

* Nevermind the fact that freshman is now a sophomore and should have seen the field Saturday.

But he kept Gaurantano in, because Harrison Bailey wasn't ready in his mind. I do believe Harrison Bailey was #2 QB last year already for the team in Pruitt's mind. He gave him all the reps in that scrimmage on Sunday to try and force feed him.

As a Vol fan, I just want to see UT win. I do believe in Brian Maurer's ability. Also excited about what Harrison Bailey can do. However, it looks like Brian is getting screwed...and it's no fault of Bailey. Because there hasn't been a legit QB competition...

No other way to say it. He should have played last Saturday, but Pruitt is thinking longterm development for the program. He doesn't want to risk losing Bailey. But since Bailey isn't ready in his mind, then you will see things like last Saturday where we let a game get out of hand.

I think Brian Maurer should transfer.
It has nothing to do with Harrison Bailey being better or not. Pruitt didn't even play him, when he had SEC experience under his belt...that pretty much shows his intentions.

It's not the worst path to take as a coach honestly, but it sucks for a young promising players such as Brian Maurer. If he does transfer I follow his career with interest.

I'd hate to see because I think BM is the most talented....overall skills......I'm not sold on HB......

JG gives us our best shot to beat Missouri, South Carolina, Kentucky, Vandy, MSU, ole miss, Arkansas, Auburn, Texas A&M.

No shot at all to beat Florida, Georgia and Alabama.

Best shot means still could lose.

Peterman left after Dobbs locked up the job. He wasn’t playing here.
Whatever offense they threw out there...Dobbs was better.
Remember Pat Mahomes, Dwayne Haskins/Justin Fields? You’d lose that bet.

eh Florida is very beatable, all we should have to do is run the ball down their throats, they cant stop anyone....

but Florida is our kryptonite no matter how bad they are on any year.

The problem with Peterman is that Butch threw him to the wolves at Florida when he could have given Peterman the entire second half in a no win game vs Oregon to get some reps on the road. Now we prolly win the UF game had Worley started it given how he played after Peterman broke his thumb. However, Butch was absolutely horrible at QB management over career.
