The announcer lady said the rate of fuel flowing from the external tank to the shuttle engines (not boosters) was equivalent to draining a standard swimming pool in 25 seconds!

She said the pics came out well so I cant wait to see them. The launch pad is acually on Merritt Island the town she works in.

I say so. That camera on the external fuel tank has to be the greatest thing. It keeps going way into the launch(until seperation). Pretty cool to see the Earth like that.

When it rotated back to upright it took me a minute to figure out what the black was...duh.

On campus, we have the NASA channel so that is where i'm watching. It's usually on some of the news channels.

Cool. Night launches are amazing, aren't they fine?

You're right. I've seen both but my first night launch I was driving up the turnpike and noticed all the cars pulling over. It was an awe inspiring moment that a day launch can't compare to.

About six minutes to launch. Will beable to view flame from my drive way with beer in hand.
