Deep space communication has incredibly slow bit rate. The communication channel is mostly comms and telemetry. Video is lower priority.I was expecting more video but I’m admittedly clueless about how it works. All I see is a still frame.
I heard them say it was a bandwith issue.
Yep the new laser is intriguing but it can also only be used at night as the sun causes interference.Somewhere I read that they are using a new LASER based communication system on this mission rather than radio where possible. Logic suggests the new system could only be used with a line of sight scenario? I would think when they are on the far side of the moon that radio would be the only way. Cool that we are trying out new tech though...thats where break throughs happen.
My worry is that if the Dems ever get back in control; they will try and cut SpaceX out of the program just to spite Musk (and by extension Trump)Hate to bring this up, but I have thought of the penultimate Trump Troll:
If they land on the moon before the end of his term, have them roll out on the surface a Trump banner big enough to see from Earth with a decent telescope.
That will keep the dems engaged in the space program at least long enough to go and get it.
Well, they will be back in power with even bigger idiots than the VA Gov. And they will go after any and everything related to 47. Fortunately for Musk, I think he is smarter than they are collectively. My worry is that if the Dems ever get back in control; they will try and cut SpaceX out of the program just to spite Musk (and by extension Trump)
