I was so busy yesterday I completely missed Axiom-4 returned last night.

I really enjoyed the fact that they included telemetry for the first time in a reentry broadcast. I have always wondered what the speed and altitude were while they were showing those grainy IR videos of the vehicle.
I did not realized the degree of deceleration AFTER the blackout period. Or the fact that the max G force loading of 4.2 is also after the blackout period.

Good idea. A fully functional base on the moon would be a great jumping point to deeper space exploration.
We should name it Moon Base Alpha. And we can store our spent nuclear waste there. What could POSSIBLY go wrong?

Starship will cut that price by several orders of magnitude.
that assumes spaceX gets/keeps the job. which depends entirely on Elon and Trump's relationship. If they split Trump will turn to other rich people who will throw money his way. and Boeing will be willing to throw trump some donations in order to get back on the .gov gravy train and never have to deliver.

But if Trump wants a return to the moon to happen this decade; he really has no choice but to stick with SpaceX. Hopefully he has advisers who can point out that reality to him.
Boeing, ULA, SLS….the pace is just far too slow

Boeing will sell Trump whatever bill of sales Trump wants to hear.

That is what I am afraid of. I really REALLY wish Musk had just totally stayed out of politics. Politics and logical thinkers never mix well and it always ends badly

Honestly, I think the NASA budget is fine for what they’re doing. Space research usually ends up giving us tech and knowledge that trickles down into everyday life, even if it’s not obvious right away. Compared to what gets spent on other stuff, \$18B isn’t huge, and I’d rather see it go toward science than another random defense project.
