That was quite impressive. It seemed to be a little late firing the engines for a controlled landing, but I'd bet they fix that for the next flight. If you don't break something, you don't learn anything.
 
They are smaller, but they have about as much thrust as an RS-25 Shuttle engine.

That is for a glide vehicle, not vertical landing. I am not disputing the math, just lack of one in three engine anomaly failure redundancy

From Labpadre’s Sapphire Cam. Shows how late it flips to land. Unfortunately the cam operator attempted to zoom and lost SN8 before it landed so it didn’t capture the RUD itself.

Looks like a fire or two has started near landing pad; hopefully they will burn out without spreading.
Not sure they will be able to send in anyone to extinguish them.
