Fighting over whose board is better...awesome

It is pretty feminine and I shouldn't have contributed to it. :)

Looking forward to the trip Saturday. My concern this year is rebuilding that O Line.

We will see. Looking forward to it.

ace how do we get one. can we just say screw the touchdown we just want the extra point.

One point more than the other guy is all you need to win the game.

With that said, I do like your reply. To Hell with the six we want one. :)

S. Miss went 9-5 last year as well as averaging 25 points per game against stiff competition. We cannot look past this weekend. S. Miss, is expected by polsters, to win the Conference USA title this year. Last year they beat NC State and played Florida and Va.Tech very well. This is a statement game! Whether we win or not, if we struggle...the Gators will smell blood. We cannot go limping into Gainesville.

La Coker...I forgive you, we could use one more option on offense, or maybe our BEST option. You might be playing defense too.

i am a resident of jacksonville as well. do you know of any volunteer fan clubs or game day gatherings? I have been told from the university, there are over 75,000 adherents to volunteer football in jacksonville. why don't we have a huge fan club here like auburn, lsu and of ocurse georgia?

Personally I believe Appy State is as good as USM, maybe better.

I watched 5 games of theirs last year, and I know they are as well coached as say...well, actually, around the top 35 area. I.E USM, BYU, South Florida. Plus Armanti Edwards should be playing D-1, I've thought that since they started the playoffs last year. I'd love to see them at the #25 spot in the postseason poll if they go undefeated and a third straight national title. They're good enough.

It's like debating whether a really good 4-A school can beat a 5-A or 6-A school in high school football. They certainly can.

S.Miss. never avoids anyone. They will play anyone, anywhere...that is one of the reasons they are respected among coaching ranks; they play BIG TIME non-conf. schedules. Last year beat NC State, played Florida and VaTech...and well. You can bet everyone of our guys and coach-staff respects the potential S.Miss. can bring to the field....Saturday the Vols WILL win and with respect as well.
S.Miss. can handle UT-Martin, but not UT-KNOCKSville...
home of FreshmanU.

The gap is way larger than that. What they did was like a college team going to the NFL and beating a team like the Jags. If Appy State was D1 they would be around 50-60 (which is so ridiculous for a D1 AA school to begin with). Appy State should move up to D1 because they are so far ahead of everyone in D1 AA. That being said, USM would beat Appy State about 9 out of 10 times as of right now.

Appy State had never been close to beating a Div1 school before last Saturday.

wrong. they beat Wake in 2000. And have played teams tough but they just never had the depth to hang. Last year they stayed close to NC State even though Armanti Edwards didn't play.

Edit: And also most of the DI teams they play are damn good. See LSU in 2005. LSU won convincingly but didnt dominate them. That game was 24-0.

Another Edit: 50-60 was too high too. 70-80 is not though.

NC State wasn't the same last year after coming to Hattiesburg. After we beat them it kinda deflated their season. Hope that doesn't happen to you guys if we win on Saturday

You're right. They used to play Wake Forest every year, almost.

Hardly any of the DI teams they play are any good. But still, atleast they beat Wake Forest once and #5 Michigan.

LSU then NC State and then Michigan are some pretty damn good teams. And they could have very well been 2-1 out of those 3 games if Edwards would have played at NC State.

NC State's a damn good team? Michigan?
For a DI AA football team? You are damn strait those are good teams. Those are 3 BCS conference teams. Why did you put Michigan? Were they not ranked #5 in the whole country? Do they not have 5+ players that will be drafted this year?

Yeah, those are tough for a Div 1AA team. Most of the Div 1 teams they've played have beaten them pretty handily and most of them weren't good football teams. (Like NC State last year) Maybe they should get in on that one win against Michigan, maybe they should win more against Div1 teams, first.:peace2:

Who knows?
