Southern Miss fans are saying bullstuff about Coach Tyndall

How on earth did the Athletic Dept. not reserve that website prior to announcing the hire? I guess Dave Hart was really scrambling after the Louisiana Tech coach turned him down.

One post, zero likes. Seems like a legit contribution to the board.

Gosh. I guess if I lived and had my life tied up in Hattiesburg, MS that I would be bitter too.

Gotta love those clueless white people who try to dictate how other people should perceive racist terminology. Been to a Clippers game lately?

What about ppl who try to make a situation out of something that clearly innocent? (No, im not talking about Sterling, I'm referring to your comments).

Anyone can perceive almost anything the way that fits their agenda best. I could say that because you say "white" ppl that I perceive that as racist. I prefer to be call "tan" or "caucasian" and referring to me as white is saying that my skin is absent of all colors.

Thug is a racist word if you make it one. But there are truely very few words that are "racist" standing alone. If you read below, I even went as far as to define the word "thug" both in present terms and historically. I even quoted everyone's favorite, Urban Dictionary.

Enjoy reading.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/thug

noun :// a cruel or vicious ruffian, robber, or murderer.

And from the Encyclopedia Britannica

thug
member of a well-organized confederacy of professional assassins who traveled in gangs throughout India for several hundred years. (The earliest authenticated mention of the thugs is found in Ziya'-ud-Din Barani, History of Firuz Shah, dated about 1356.) The thugs would insinuate themselves into the confidence of wayfarers and, when a favourable opportunity presented itself, strangle them by throwing a handkerchief or noose around their necks. They then plundered and buried them. All this was done according to certain ancient and rigidly prescribed forms and after the performance of special religious rites, in which the consecration of the pickax and the sacrifice of sugar formed a prominent part. Although the thugs traced their origin to seven Muslim tribes, Hindus appear to have been associated with them at an early period; at any rate, their religious creed and practices as worshipers of Kali, the Hindu goddess of destruction, showed no influence of Islam. The fraternity possessed a jargon of its own (Ramasi) and signs by which its members recognized each other.

And for shats and giggles, From Urban Dictionary, quoting Tupac
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=thug

As Tupac defined it, a thug is someone who is going through struggles, has gone through struggles, and continues to live day by day with nothing for them. That person is a thug. and the life they are living is the thug life.

Nowhere in any of those examples do I see "black male" or "african-american male"

A USM fan over on the BigGoldNation board is saying the UT fans think Coach Tyndall is racist over saying he wouldn't sign thugs ...

Until I see evidence of where Coach Tyndall was referring to whites when he referred to thugs, then I'll have to assume he was not being racist. Actual evidence to the contrary welcomed.

#1 Who cares what Southern Miss fans say? #2 Please merge with "thugs" thread since Coach T saying the word seems to have doomed him.

yes he is, probably because he is either

a troll,
a flash in the pan fan,
a martin sympathizer,
a drama queen,
a racist,
a blow in the wind fan.

1 post and his first post says enough.

True, I'm new to this forum and that was my first post. So what? FWIW, I am a Knoxvillian, a Tennessee alumnus and football season ticket holder.

All I did was point out that someone in the AD's office apparently overlooked something VERY basic when they rushed to fill the slot after the La. Tech coach laughed in their faces. That seems like a pretty big oversight to me. If you disagree, so be it.

La. Tech turned down this job. The entire signing class vanished overnight. If you don't think there are major problems with this program, you aren't a VFL -- you are delusional. Sometimes the best thing a fan can do is take an honest look at the situation.

Bill Lambeer is probably one of the most notorious sports thugs of all time. Wait!!!! What color was he?

Did I miss something ? When did Lambert murder someone or get arrested for drugs.

Here is a better group of thugs IMO
Pacman,Hernandez, DGB,and Hamilton,Oscar

Not thugs but great competitors IMO
Lambeer, rodman,Henderson, haynesworth

You put VFL status on an individual Fan because they don't agree with your point of View Regarding

1) Tyndall
2) Thugdom
3) Recruiting Class' Departure
4) A La Tech Coach Shunning.
5) One of the Major Problems with the BB Program left for California
6) Honest evaluation is what you should do without Sky is falling mentality.

What did they bother not to check out, A the USM message board....

Do you Honestly think that the UT hires a guy for 1.6 mil, a year for 6 years with bonuses and does not do a thorough background check.

You are the delusional one.

OBTW, Tn Alumus, Season ticker holder, and Knoxville native does not make you a VFL.

Another thing no insult intended but you need to quit using Vol Nation and the Southern Mississippi Msg Boards as your fact checker sources.

Looks like your post was totally misinterpreted though I fail to see why. Reserving an obvious troll URL is an excellent way to mitigate negativity especially on the front end of a hire.

Welcome to the board.

Welcome to the board.

I agree with you on this, we all need to be in a "Wait and See" Mode.

Face it, Tyndall is here for a least 3+ seasons and contracted for 6. The La Tech Shunning is already wrapping garbage.

He hasn't coached a game yet or gotten the first recruit signed yet, that we know.

Only negatives I have seen about "the Tyndall hire" has been from some fans but the Media/experts/coaches opinions have all been positive about the hire.

Are you assuming that I am white or something?

Based on your comments about my post, it seems you are basically claiming that Tyndall thinks all African Americans are "thugs" and that he isn't going to recruit or sign any African Americans. That is basically what you are implying.

You are a fool!!
