Southern Miss basketball under NCAA investigation (Tyndall)

How much of a chance that the article was the first time Clarke and his family heard about the investigation?

Jason King who broke the story said the Clarke family was well aware of the upcoming story days ago, and hinted at them being in contact with Buzz about it

I know we don't have all the facts yet but either way it seems that the NCAA will have a reason to focus on the UTAD as long as CDT is here. That doesn't seem like a good thing. And if CDT ever does get caught doing something shady here the repercussions could certainly be enhanced since we would have known that he may likely be a repeat offender, but let him stay anyway. For the record, though, I was fine with sticking with Bruce Pearl at the time and riding it out so I'm not saying parting ways with CDT is the way to go at this point. I just don't want the NCAA parked in an unmarked van down by the river 24/7. :twocents:

The worst part about this, is that just like Pearl's final season this is gonna drag on and be mentioned every damn game. This won't be a short process, it likely drags out through the year and verdict coming down after the season at some point.

With that looming over the programs head you would have to think it will only make recruiting harder for Tyndall. It's not as if he was killing it anyways, but now with extra ammo for other schools it's gonna get harder. The worst part is that if could start effecting 2016 guys Blackwell and Ado, and if that happens, not a good sign IMO.

Per Tony Basilio, “I saw the text from Bruce Pearl to several boosters and Jon Gilbert the afternoon when White declined Tennessee. The text from Pearl said, “ I want the job, I have not signed the deal yet with Auburn. I want the job let’s get this done. I’m a VFL”

Is this as solid as your prediction that Slive would never let Pearl back into the SEC?

I posted this in the other threads but wanted to post it here instead because this thread seems to be where the conversation is.

"Check out packpride if some of you haven't on the UNCheat*** scandal. It's unbelievable. Decades worth of cheating for athletes and the NCAA AND ESPN have attempted to cover this up for a long, long time.

John Skipper, head of ESPN, is a UNC grad. Half of their damn analyst are UNC grads. The NCAA investigators sent to chapel hill to do the initial investigation are UNC grads. Kenneth Wainstein, who did the investigation after the mcCants admission, was hired by UNC, I believe was also a UNC grad, and is in charge of PR DAMAGE CONTROL at his law firm!! You seriously can't make this **** up!

Wainstein, because his rep was on the line, have a bull**** half true half whitewash finding, trying to exonerate roy Williams and dean smith. But still had to admit to at least 20 years worth of cheating. Roy Williams has now been caught in several lies, and is now telling recruits that wins and championships are in jeopardy, yet the NCAA IS STILL SILENT.

Word is the UNCAA** is so mad at UNC for forcing their hand, southern Mississippi is going to get hammered!lol.

Seriously check out the UNC scandal if you haven't already. If I were UT, I would site the UNCAA*** investigation and say we aren't talking to you, and anything you do we won't accept until UNCAA**** is held accountable. This should be the stance of every university from here on out."

Gotta love Tony, already turning on his boy Donnie.

King said Tennessee fans should be "very concerned" about Tyndall's possible role. "I think this could get really ugly."

So much sadness here. What might have been....

Yep, get ready for "the Donnie Tyndall timeline" every game.

You're right . This story will drag on until something major happens.

Where did he say this? I read his daily blog but don't listen to the show except for postgame. Was that in today's show?

No proof of charges yet but looks pretty bad. If true and he was involved its over for him. If he says he knew nothing about it again that would probably be worse from my perspective. Worse NCAA violations than the last violator of NCAA rules, whose name I will not use here.

IMO this will be just like Pearl.....we will be scared little b&tches and allow the NCAA to stick it in our a$$....instead of standing up for ourselves like Auburn and A&M did. They will find something and CDT will be fired and we will be hiring a new coach next yr....I hope we make the right choice.

So if the NCAA does their investigation and decides to impose a 2 years post season ban, loss of scholarship, and recruiting restrictions....you think we should retain Tyndall to prove a point?

The right choice is if he is caught you cut bait and the sooner the better. If he's clean which with the steam this is picking up is unlikely he's totally clean then get ready for a long ugly road regardless.

The only thing that could effect us in this mess, if if we have to go look for another coach. WE are not going to get penalized or face sanctions. So Miss and Tyndall are.

There is no way Tennessee is punished for what Tyndall did at USM. He can be punished, but Tennessee is in the clear as the NCAA is concerned.

No I think we should hire Auburns lawyer and tell the NCAA to blow it out their a$$......obviously we won't and will throw CDT under the bus and be hiring us another coach. Us and the Georgia Bulldogs are about as spineless as they get.

Huh? Am I reading what you typed correctly?
