For the most part UCLA fans treated us with respect and class when we went to the Rose Bowl. Let's show them the southern gents we are. I think we will win by a decent margin. No need to talk trash or rub it in, even if it's done jokingly before the game. Or even chant "SEC" (dumbest cheer ever). Even go as far as to apologize to them if you see a redneck act like an idiot to them.

What do you fellers think? :hi:

I agree and think VOL fans should always conduct themselves with class and dignity.:good!:

I just think it's important because it's not like UGA. We don't host UCLA every other year. I feel like making a good impression is a good idea. If teams respect us nationwide, maybe we'll win one of them Heisman trophies they keep talking about.

If they act like those Cal idiots during the prayer though..... Argh!

I went to a Real Salt Lake soccer game, and they got this brand new beautiful stadium, so they said a prayer to dedicate it. The guy who said the prayer was some Mexican church leader, and could barely speak English. He prayed for over 5 minutes. Literally. It was ridiculous. Crowd got kind of restless.

Vol fans should be above acting stupid. If someboby wants to be classless, go be a Gator fan! was that classless for me to say?

The cost of living is so high in LA they can't afford to support their team? bummer.... perhaps recruits need to know this fact.

I had a blast (aside from the game result) in SoCal last year.

I have always seen visiting fans treated with respect and hospitality on game day in Knoxville. There may be exceptions in the 18-22 year old demographic, but for the most part it's all good.

There are a good number of LA transplants in mid-TN due to the music business, Nissan North America, etc. I don't know how that may translate into #s of UCLA fans at Neyland, but I'm guessing they will have some folks there.

we're coming in Thursday morning from LA, and can't wait to experience Neyland for the first time. Hope the game turns out to be a good one, but the feeling here is Tenn. has been waiting 12 months for revenge and they aren't going to be in a good mood. Having been in the tunnel last year with some Vols walking off the field, I can vouch for their anger.....hope it wore off a bit since.

Kiffins vs. Chow, Lane's last big game at the Rose Bowl was the 13-9 debacle, so hopefully we remember how to shut him down.

In the meantime, on the hospitality front, any suggestions where to watch the Titan game Thursday night? We're staying near campus at the Hilton.....

Thanks for welcoming us and we'll have a beer Saturday afternoon with any and all comers!

Suprisingly, I don't think that angle is being pushed too heavily. It's kind of hard for the fanbase to isolate on a specific grudge game when the Vols lost 7 games last season. The local media have tried to rile people up by suggesting that the UCLA loss started the death spiral for the season and cost Fulmer his job, but I don't know of many people taking that bait. I'm sure you'll get lots of suggestions for game viewing sites.

I'm going to Ray's ESG on Kingston Pike to watch the Titan's game. They have TONS of tvs and usually live music on their outdoor patio. Rooster's off northshore is also pretty good but can get kinda cramped sometimes. Welcome to Tennessee, hope you enjoy your trip (outside of the football outcome of course...)

I think the SEC is great. It's warranted for anytime an SEC team trashes an OOC opponent that thinks their conference is better than our own.

riiighhhttt. there are no liberals at ucla. not a one.
There's a difference between self-serving, psuedo liberals who put a Change sticker on the back of their Landcruiser and still complain about high taxes every April and full-fledged, anti-capitalist, G-8 protesting bomb throwers who will gladly get in your grill and tell you that you're a racist, anti-humanitarian if you do not susbscribe to the 10 pillars of communism.

the city of berkeley has more than a few of the people you just listed. not so much for the actual students and the alumni. btw most of the students at cal are from southern california.
