got tickets for the uscjr game and was just wondering if anyone had any experiences in columbia? and how is parking?

Parking is available all over the place, ranging from $5-$15, to me, its the traffic will kill you. As many great things as the University is improving, the Richland County PD sucks just as great at traffic direction.

What I do when I go for games, I'm not a drinker any longer (12months dry!) so I drive, I go down Assembly Street until I see Adam's bookstore on the left and I start looking for parking. Sure its about a 15ish minute walk, but you skip out on about an hour of sitting in traffic and when leaving its easier bc you miss about 75% of the alcohol+emotion+idiot induced road rage when leaving.

I parked at a minor league baseball stadium last time I was there. Worked out pretty well.

I come in on Bluff Rd from I-77. Tons of parking on both sides of the road and easy to get back on interstate after the game. Don't worry if you're stuck parking a long way from the stadium. It's flat as a pancake and easy to walk.

I've always had a blast going to games at SC. Those folks love their Gamecocks. There's a slight chance I'll be at TN/SC game, too. My nephew marches in the SC band. If I'm there I should be easy to spot.

I went a few yrs ago for a UT game there when college gameday ws there. We parked very close to the stadium bc we were there at like 8am. It was some alley beside a huge grassy area where gameday set up. We tailgated all day and were treated pretty well..most UT fans didn't show up til later..there were a cpl ppl driving around selling/giving away moonshine to strangers..even us UT fans.

In 2004 and 2006 I parked at the National Guard Armory for $15. It's less than a mile from Williams-Brice Stadium. Great place to park and tailgate. Probably the easiest stadium to park and get to in the SEC.

To me USC will always be SC, not Southern Cal. And I realize I am in the huge minority, but I've lived in SC for over 20 years now.

Take this advice.:rock: If you go from downtown toward the stadium, you'll deal with one way traffic and an hour wait to get out.

USClite is not too great of an experience. Ole Miss and Vandy are the only worse stadiums in the SEC imo. I went in 2004 and 2006 and it was awful. No tradition, awful rooster crowing over the PA, and delusional fans. I haven’t been since they began looping techno music non-stop but I’m sure makes it even worse and more gimmicky.
