I admire your ability to put some of our, let's just say, more unruly posters in their place humorously and to the point. :salute:

no matter what, 'the ole ball coach' will be in all of the "Orange Crunch" Schedule. I am rest assured of that......BUT, in his last game at Florida, who outcoached who??

Spurrier is in a perfect place. His legend has already been established and every time he loses a game at SC it gets chalked up to being outmanned.

Well, you are correct. That being said, our team is comprised mostly of his recruits now, I believe. We have a very young team on both sides of the ball this season, but come next season, I don't think he'll have this excuse anymore.

Maybe there is some irony involved in this game. Perhaps the loser winds up in the "Eat Mor Chiken" bowl.

UT will beat usc easily in Knoxville---I'm more worried about bama on the road.

Be Careful. I'm worried about all of them. The only thing seperating us from worrying about not going .500 and the bravado in this post is one Georgia butt whooping. Was it a sign of things to come or a blip of greatness during a season of mediocrity? Time will tell.

How does it feel to be ranked in the top 10, isn't that the highest you've ever been?...and one more thing How many SEC Championships does South Carolina have?

ohhh my bad i forgot that number would be 0

It's the highest we've been since 1984, I believe... not sure if it's the highest we've ever been. As far as SEC championships, we've only been in the SEC since 1991... compared to Tennessee who has been in since 1932. Granted, the Vols have won the SEC twice since we've joined, so that's not much of an excuse.

Hey folks. I'm not here to start a trash talking thread, but I wanted some opinions from more informed fellow football fans about how the Vols stack up against Carolina this year. The only game I've gotten to see is the game where y'all sent the Dogs home with their tails between their legs... but y'all sure looked pretty impressive. How has Tennessee's performance in the UGA game compared to the rest of the season? Can a young South Carolina offense find success in Neyland? Can a depleted South Carolina defense stop the Vols on the ground? Thoughts? Opinions?

From one bird to another-if the defense shows up you can only say "OOPSIE".

I'm worried as well. You never know if Saturday was a Fluke or not. But after seeing bama lose to FSU and then almost lose to Houston, I'm more afraid of SC at home than bama on the road.

I don't mean to be a cock,(no pun intended) I just said that because of the arragant SC fan

Eh, some people go to boards looking to start trash, others (such as myself) like to go to discuss football with fellow football fans about a team they don't know as much about. I'm not personally familiar with the majority of the players on your team, so I wanted to learn more about who to look out for and what matchups to pay attention to.

1. the offence in the Orange shirts vs your defence.

2. the defence in the orange shirts vs your offence.

just kidding..... the defence well tell football fans if the Vols are for real or not this week. (see the thread about Ga. win a fluke or not for the whole argument in it's entirety) Not saying that MSU is going to / could run up some points but, the Vols need to not just win. They need to win and shut the opposition down. A score like 28 to 14 or 35 - 21. Thats not shutting them down IMO. I look for the secondary to be aggressive and really go after the pass, while at the same time, I'm hoping that the pass rush up front holds it together.
The Vols can score as they have shown in the last game. If the Ainge led Vols get into a rythem on offence, and the defence forces 3 and outs early, this game might be ugly. Im thinking 'breakout". However, I dont think the Vols are ready for a shoot out with ANYONE. That includes MSU. If they go out and play less aggressive D and allow that clock to tick, anything can happen. A few first downs....a hailmary....a 35 yd. feild goal with 15 sec to go....hey, we've all seen it. Im taking the Vols, obviously) and I'm going 35-10.
