South Carolina game

I mean, beating them would be great, yes, but it doesn't remove the sting of them knocking us out of the playoff conversation and knocking Hooker out for the season, ending his Heisman bid. Nothing will remove the stink of that loss other than them having the season of a generation and us crapping on them.

And honestly, if we don't figure out what tendencies they saw on film that gave them an advantage on par with being wired into the coaches headsets, we might struggle this year. Lack of talent was not the problem. Getting out coached was.

All I have heard since January is how bad South Carolina Gamecocks blasted my Vols in regular season play last year. I have heard their coach bragging several times about this game and how much it has enhanced their program. Let me just say a few comments about what I would like to see in the up coming football year. Sure, I would love to see the Vols win every game , but there is one game that stands out for me more than any on our schedule. That game is the Gamecocks from South Carolina. Vols, we owe them a big favor, and that is thrashing them into reality on the field this year. We need to humiliate them at Neyland Stadium to the best of our ability. We need to send them back to the Chicken Coop where they belong and bring them down to earth. Let me urge all Vol fans to come to this game and make the noise level against Alabama (last year) sound like nothing as to compared to what the chickens are going to hear this year at Neyland. Everyone at South Carolina seems to think that Rattler is the second coming of Knute Rockney. Vols, we ask you to continue to have their quarterback on the ground as much as possible and bring him back to reality. We need an old fashion butt whoopin for this game..................GO BIG ORANGE ! NOW, IT IS OUR TURN TO DO SOME BRAGGING !!!!!

Agree OP. Lived 12 years in Columbia from ‘77 to ‘89. Saw George Roger’s win the Heisman and witnessed klempson’s first NC. I remember when SC was an independent and got as high as #2 in the national rankings. I called it then. They did their uscjr thing and lost to Navy at Annapolis. Prior to that game, listening to them you would have thought they were bama. Junior has had a delusional fan base forever. Too bad the Vols stoked their fire last year. Now it is time to obliterate it from their memory.

I will rest my vocal cords that week before the game and be ready to do my part in giving them the full force and effect of Neyland Loud! Vols by fiddy!

Ah yes, My favorite UT-Bama game. Leonard was all over the Field, and I mean in bama's backfield. Meanwhile Peyton & the Offense were handling bidness. Big smiles every time I watch it. Thanks for reminding me!
I used to joke with a friend "Know why Bama didn't have any turnovers?

wait for it....

Because Freddy Kitchens ate them all.

(he was a little chunky.. not as bad as that big Kentucky QB though)

Worst stadium brawl I've ever witnessed was in Columbia . . .

. . . between two Vol fans.
Heck, I just about witnessed a fight last year during the SCar game between one Vol fan and himself: me. Was so angry I coulda went all Tyler Durden on myself like Ed Norton in Fight Club.

I seriously didn't know South Carolina had a fanbase until this offseason. I always thought they were like Vandy. No real fans and everyone supported the other in state school, Clemson.

Its funny how all their fans are delusional and think they are on our level. Yet, beating us is a marquee win for them. When have we ever used beating South Carolina as a rallying cry to our fanbase that we are improving? Never, it is expected that we win. When we don't like in 2016 and last year, it is a huge major dissapointment.
I have 2 cousins that grew up in maryland and attended there, as well as a family friend who grew up a diehard uga fan and then attended there, and the arguments they use to compare themselves to us and make the case for their superiority is mind boggling. I hope the whole team looks like the chickens runnin round with their heads cut off that they truly are.

I am only able to make one home game per year, and picked the SC game for all the reasons listed above. My daughter and I will be there giving our all and screaming our lungs out until the lung lining is missing.

Remember what our defense did to the two Pitt QBs last year? Yeah, that and more for SC. Not saying that I want to see Rattler get injured, but certainly "rattled" over and over to where the offense is in a stranglehold.
62-13 Vols.

Their gameplan was pretty simple. Get the ball out of your hands quick to one v one matchups down the field. And we got mossed routinely. Our dbs should be ashamed.

I want 70+ on those asshats...I am really beginning to hate those buttheads...Not sure why because they have never been relevent but they act so arrogant that I want thier heads on stakes...I hope Rattler gets sacked 10 times that game and they start counting them like he did last year with his td's.

By far the worst behaved fans at an opposing stadium that I have ever dealt with. They were rude and obnoxious before the game even started. I hope we put 70+ on them
I was at the "Hurd quit game" there a few years back....as We were entering the stadium...lil buddy made an off hand remark that My daughter heard....he almost caught one but I pulled Her away......so yeah...f@$k them.

I live here- all you have to say is National Champs in September… done by October. They have ni response.

VA tech was the same way. I liked them and the school, and at some point they got to where they thought they were relevant, and became real jerks. Maybe that's the Beamer way. Of course we had to put them in their place up here in Bristol.

I was at that uscjr game in Annapolis when the lamecocks were rated #2 and they got crushed by navy. I was with a bunch of friends, all USCJr graduates, it was heaven.

I feel you brother Vol. I’m going to this game and and why I chose to attend it over all the others. I truly believe the Vols will deliver an a$$whoopin, and I’ll be in section PP screaming loud and proud cheering on the boys in orange. GBO! 🍊

I want to see some wicked hits that knock the ball loose time and time again. Then, grind their D into the ground, exhaust them. Score, score and score some more, but make them pay for it by controlling the clock and take our time administering the payback. Make it hurt, make it last, make them feel like the game will never be over.

I live in Mount Pleasant. Luckily, I don't run across too many yardbird fans down here. We mostly just have Yankee transplants
I live in Mt Pleasant also and married to a Gamecock plus in-laws and both my kids graduated from USuck. As a UT Alumni, I'm quietly hoping we beat the holy s**t out of them. Been married for 20 yrs and glad that we beat them most of those years. I still remind my wife that T Martin broke the NCAA for consecutive completed passes at USuck and they have never even been to a football nat'l champ game. There are a ton of Gamecocks in Mt Pleasant. Half of our engineering office are Gamecock grads and actually outnumber the Clemmers. 11 of 14 SEC schools are represented in our office. 4 of us are UT grads.

I get the guy had a great game, but really dude? Entering the game, he had a total of 8 TDs and 9 INTs. You really shouldn't be going around showboating like you're all that. If not for the Tennessee game, he would have ended the year with 12 TDs, 12 INTs..
He beat us. We endure this crap until the scales are righted.
