What are your thoughts on Steve Spurrier? Do you think he will be there for a while longer? If he does leave soon, what do you think will be the state of the program after he is gone?

:hi:

probably retire after this season, after looking at the rest of the schedule I would say they're headed for another 7-5 season. Look for them to hire Bobby Bowdon once he become available. :)

everyone but SC fans think he will be gone every year...as a fan of the gamecocks I think he will be here for two more years in 2011 after we get that SEC east title

Aspiring to a SECe title which doesn't exist? I bet that really motivates a guy that won a Heisman as a player and a National Title as a coach.

I think he will be the coach for at least 4 more years. This is his last coaching gig. He's having a bit more fun coaching this year than he's had in the last couple. I'm thinking the next few years are going to be exciting for gamecock fans.

We have a pretty decent team this year. Every game left should be a competitive one. Nothing has happened thus far to make me think otherwise.

The game Saturday night should be a thriller if the last few years are any indication. The stadium will be jumping. Would love to be there.

Who knows what's going to happen when he leaves. I'm hoping we go after a younger guy with something to prove.

OMG...

Do all USCjr fans obsess about the male organ? Your avatar is a big black phallus with an exhortation to "come and take it"?

Really?

REALLY?

The more of your fans I encounter, the more I think that this obsession is universal.

It would certainly explain your collective tendency to think your program is about 20% bigger and better than it actually is.

Oh yeah; cluck, cluck, cluck...

It must be nice to live in fantasy land. SEC East title, that means you beat Florida, Tennessee, Georgia in the same season. So good luck with that!

Back to serious discussion...

I think Spurrier we be here at least to when this years recruiting class (Jeffrey, Giles, etc.) becomes the senior class. I see this class as his final 'hurrah'.

Unless we start winning big, beating the big three in the east and finally start beating Clemson, then I think our program won't be at such a loss when Spurrier finally leaves as it would be if he didn't ever win an SEC title, or SEC east at that.

must quote myself here.. cant go downhill when you've never been to the top

How can you honestly say that our program is going downhill? I know that our stats and triumphs don't match that of UT's any many other programs but we have progressed tremendously, especially under Spurrier.

This is our most successful decade in wins ever at South Carolina. We have been bowl eligible since Spurrier has been here. We have two highly touted recruiting classes (07, this past years) that are on the rise and playing like upperclassmen.

Downhill? No, no. On the verge of breaking the 6-7 win barrier? Very possible. Next year and the year after that will be the years, if ever, that if anything great was to happen to Carolina, would happen then.

I agree. But he will never win the east to hard of a division. I think you guys beat Clemson this year though.

USCjr's only claim to fame is that they're more relevant than UK and Vandy, but that's about it.

I think your on the rise but can only rise so far... I think 2nd in the east is the best you could do and that would be difficult... if its gonna happen gotta be this year or next... but I think 3rd is the highest you get
