It appears that USCe had several injuries during the 2nd Half of the Game.

Players would get injured sit out a play or 2 and were back in playing as if they were not injured.

Appeared to be the tactic and happened 6-8 times when they were on defense. Gassed? Supports the theory CBJ has talked about from day one regarding imposing will on the other team.

This is a legal tactic, but one I had not noticed until last Saturday.

Anybody have thoughts?

From what I remember, the majority of them were getting their crap rocked trying to tackle Hurd. Kid seems to be getting bigger faster and stronger every game.

There was one review, where the sc defender was getting up on all 4 he looked over to the sc sideline and collapsed. One play later he was back in the game.

maybe trying to slow down the game too. we were moving at a good pace on several of those drives, esp the last 2

I think Hurd was/is more physical now than he's ever been, but I also agree that SC was trying to slow down the game as well. When you're getting drug from one end zone to the other, guess you have to do what you can to slow it down. We'll probably see more of it as the offense continues to improve/go faster.

My thought is that our guys were tougher than their guys.

I think this was the tactic that was trying to be achieved. A player seemed to be injured on defense when we started to move the ball. It was frustrating to watch this repeatedly.

Idk what the fuss is about. Jordan Williams has had the trainers come out and then you see him back in a few plays later in just about every game so far. Its football. It happens

During the PSU Md game there was one play where Penn was on O and Md on D, everyone was lined up and the CB looked over to the sideline and suddenly just sat down and grabbed his leg. It was the most blatant non-injury I've seen, even worse than soccer.

I'm going to go with gassed. They were on the field for a long time.

I have a very hard time calling them fakers in such a physical game. Also may have to do with the fact going to the ground results in a refs whistle instead of a time out of we don't sub. They're taught to go down when hurting

Just to clarify, this wasn't a shot at JW. Just an example of where this has happened on our team also. It's not often you have a DT that is athletic enough get out and knock down a swing pass to the outside like we saw Saturday

Since we were behind, if they want to stop the clock for us thats fine with me.

Seriously. I was actually starting to get suspicious. It was strange how they would get injured, jog right off, and then back in a couple plays later. Not usually one to call a fake, but I wondered if they were simply trying to slow down our rhythm with how many phantom injuries were happening.

The only one that didn't go down with a faked injury , but should have was Dylan Thompson. He got hammered. He called for a roughing flag so many times that the refs wouldn't throw one maybe because he was crying "Wolf" all the time.

I am not sure but a majority of Dobbs led drives have been +65 yards or better. Our OL has gotten better because it appears they can now play on their toes versus their heels. Proactive versus Reactive.

The delay tactics and slowing down the game is part of it and I guess USCe felt they could just hold on for the win.

I would like to see a rule which makes an injured player remain on the sidelines for a minimum number of plays (say at least 3 plays).
