Logos will not change. The move to a square T and the reduction of the size of the decal on the helmet were unrelated. The design of the helmets themselves dictated the slightly smaller decal, with UT not wanting the logo to be cut or split around air holes and ridges.I wonder, if we go with Adidas, is it possible that Tennessee will go back to the larger Power T on the side of the helmet? When we partnered with Nike, they "streamlined" the Power T and made it slightly smaller and symmetrical. I wonder if we might go back to the larger T.
Right. The new “speed” helmets dictated the smaller T. And those were dictated by safety.Logos will not change. Wow DP, did I hit a nerve or something? I never said it was an outrage or I didn't want the players to be safe. I just said its too bad the helmets couldnt be designed safer without changing the look. <shrugs>.I’m sorry the aesthetics were low on the list of priorities on how to best prevent players brains from turning to squash.
If Adidas is the move, I expect a Friday afternoon news dump on it. Tennessee won't be able to promote it beyond one release because of the existing deal with Nike and not wanting to have to pay a financial penalty there. Adidas may do a little more, but they won't have the promotional rights to UT's marks until July 1, 2026.
If it's Nike, I doubt we'll see an announcement at all. They'll leak it to Hubbs and he'll mention it's done. You may have noticed that Nike and the schools never made an announcement on the extensions at Georgia, Florida, LSU and Oklahoma.

I think it’s Adidas, I’ve always thought it was Adidas. I saw somebody posted on Volquest that I said I thought it was going to be Nike recently, but I’ve never said that or felt that way. I do find it very curious that it has taken this long when it felt like a done deal in May. There are obviously some contractual things that Tennessee and Adidas are having to work through, but the money is still the money. I’d be stunned if they end up staying with Nike, but nothing is impossible. You still 70/30 on this?

Danny is a genius don’t get me wrong but this was about money and I get it but it sucks we are going back to that awful apparel. Wish if we were going to leave Nike we would have gone to Under Armor for sureI think it’s Adidas, I’ve always thought it was Adidas. Under Armour is not currently bidding on college properties. They just let Auburn go, will hold onto Maryland and Notre Dame and Northwestern, but I don’t see them adding anybody in the next few years. This sucks.
