I think back in the day you’d be correct. But I don’t think it matters. Unfortunately it’s about NIL now. How much will I get paid.Going from Nike to adidas will undoubtedly hurt recruiting. Nike, for the most part, offers far superior and a better variety of gear. Nike cotton t shirts are awful. They have a variety of nice hats but many of the betters ones are the hit ass wool type material. Other than that everything is unquestionably better.
UT's graphic designer designs the uniforms, but they are manufactured on Nike's templates with Nike's materials. That would also be the arrangement with Adidas. Adidas would retain the right to design one "special" uniform a year as part of a retail activation. Could be football or men's BB.@LWSVOL , maybe you can answer this. I'm pretty sure you posted that the UTAD does all the design for UT's uniforms and has for the past few years. I assume that, going forward, they will continue to do so. Right? Does that include specifying the materials to be used and the "fit" of the uniforms to the athletes?
Do we get to pick which sport ? Or is it basically playing German Roulette with those terrible ass uniforms they put out for Black Excellence last basketball season?UT's graphic designer designs the uniforms, but they are manufactured on Nike's templates with Nike's materials. Crazy that Louisville has the richest deal with Adidas, and it’s not close. What have they done?I’ve really loved Nike and against a change but then I saw these numbers and was a little disappointed how little Nike values us… it’s a little bit of a slap in the face..

I have a middle schooler and they all wear retro Nike low tops here. A few years ago it was Under Armour. In the past I would have never noticed but my 8th grader had her 8th grade graduation at CAK yesterday. It seemed like most of the kids were wearing adidas. the three stripe soccer looking kind. There were also quite of few of those On Cloud shoes. Very few Nike. I know when I was in middle school back in the stone ages Nikes were the cool shoes. I bet 90% of the kids had Nikes. Maybe they are not as cool as they once were?
We had middle school awards and about the only Nike I saw were dunks or af1 which have been around forever. Mainly panda for dunks and those are a bit over sold. Saw sambas, vans, nb, on, etc. Really a wide range these days where we didn't have so many optionsI have a middle schooler and they all wear retro Nike low tops here.
When I was in high school Adidas was the thing. The 3 stripe pants, adidaprene shoes, tshirts. I had a black trefoil hat I wore for years. In middle school Airwalks and Vans were the cool shoes.
If the kids like it, it's already on the way out and we'll get something else in a few years.
