Im skeptical. Probably a clever use of the term top brands.
“Auburn's new deal with Nike covers 10 years and is set to make Auburn one of the highest-paid Nike-sponsored programs in the nation, according to 247Sports.”
If Nike came back with an offer that was somewhere in the neighborhood of what Adidas was offering, I think they would take it in a heartbeat. There is a strong desire from coaches to stay with Nike, even with Adidas being active in NIL.Is there anything that keeps us w/ Nike? I saw where Auburn signing w/ Nike makes them one their highest paid schools . I don’t think Auburn, not currently, is a better overall brand or outselling our merchandise. I’m trying to figure out how that’s good business for them .
Maybe Adidas would pay into the collective or plans to sponsor players directly? If they plan to make Tennessee their premier school you'd think they would want players doing ads and such.I saw somewhere that this deal could help reel in some additional money for the NIL deals? I thought schools weren’t supposed to be involved with NIL at all, but if that’s not true and this could expand NIL revenue and increase the recruiting budget significantly then that could be significant. Lord knows we need all the funds we can get to start taking more from the big boys in recruiting.

That said, Danny White runs an extremely tightlipped operation typically. The number of people around the program that know about this and seem to be familiar with the talking points around a change tells me that it’s all but a done deal that they will move.
They are sponsoring athletes directly at several of their schools, including a deal that is rumored to be north of $1 million for the quarterback in Nebraska.Maybe Adidas would pay into the collective or plans to sponsor players directly? It would be crazy not to especially since we do all our designing in house. What is Nike paying us? What would Adidas pay us?
It's not a difficult decision. If they are within a million of each other you can stick with Nike. If Adidas would give us over a million more annually, and make us their flagship, then you have to go with Adidas.
Austin just confirmed Tennessee will continue to design in house and that includes the color mix and shades
So to the ones worrying about the possibility of returning to Adidas

Adidas participates in NIL for players of their partner schools. They have their own fund. That could provide some leverage in some other sports too.I saw somewhere that this deal could help reel in some additional money for the NIL deals? For those keeping score at home, the players aren’t happy about this, the coaches aren’t happy and are apprehensive given what they know about being an Adidas school, the majority of fans don’t like it and it’s all based on the potential that it will give us extra $ to use in recruiting, ie Dylan Raiola at Nebraska .Hey, at least the players seem happy about it
