Source: Tim Tebow named Broncos' starter

Well, you can't take out the Broncos game, because it happened. Also, even allowing close to 120 a game is a pretty damn bad run D.

Are you even trying to actually get to the bottom of this or do you want to just argue? Either you are really this biased, or failed to think it through. You can't say they have a bad run D and then point to a stat severely skewed by the guy you are trying to disprove. The point is Tebow's Broncos ran ALL OVER an otherwise decent run D. That's how badly Tebow's Broncos murdered them. They took them from 16th to 29th. You are right...."it happened".

And 120 ypg is not "pretty damn bad defense". 120 will put you at about league average every year.

And since you want to bring up the Broncos last game skewing the average, if you take out the first Broncos game, they are allowing 154 yds/game, which would be the worst in the NFL.

Non-Broncos average is 130 ypg. But you're still making a dumb point. Broncos went from 38 yards, to 299 with Tebow. Point goes to Tebow.

Are you willing to say he will be a long-term good quarterback in the NFL?

No. I do like the guy and will defend him when the hate is absurd. I'd like to see him do well. The whole conversation is about my point that Tebow's best-case scenario being he could develop into a decent QB like Alex Smith after similarly going through 3-5 years of growing pains.

The odds aren't good that he'll succeed. It just drives me crazy that people will write off his career over one game, and they ignore that he's 3-3 as an NFL starter.

How is it a dumb point? Are you saying that allowing 130 a game is somehow anything but terrible? How about the points? Is allowing 27 ppg in the NFL not terrible? I can't understand how you can possibly believe that defense anything but garbage.

Alex Smith went through years of injuries and terrible offensive coordinators. Tebow had his best game, by far, when his coach said "**** it, let's just run the spread." There is no comparison here.

Also, 120 per game puts you right around, or into, the bottom third of the league almost every year. 130 makes you absolutely terrible.

And Tebow is still a terrible passing QB, I don't even know why we are debating rushing defenses. Under 50 percent, against an average, at the absolute best, passing D.

I applaud Fox for giving it a try. People said the college passing spread wouldn't work in the NFL, but the Patriots have been using it for almost a decade now (with the Saints and others making it a large percentage of their offense). I'm not saying the read option is going to be succesful, but I applaud a coach who is willing to try something regardless of what the pass happy league thinks of it.

That being said, the passing spread was successful because new rule implementations now protecting WRs over the middle today when in the mid-90s there was only a handful who could take the hits. Also QB protection. There are no trends to suggest the read option will be successful. But maybe.

(I still hate the Fox hire)

Dude they are kicking the Chiefs ass with this option, but not so sure they can keep it up now that McGahee and Moreno are out.

0/4 passing

3 rushes for 24 yards

Broncos are up 10-0.

Just like last week, the Broncos are winning despite Tebow, not because of him

You're not watching the game are you? He's making all the right reads. He's the one piece that enables them to run this offense in the first place. He's 0 for 5 and 3 of them hit his WR's in the hands. They are dominating the clock.

Again, right now it's obvious this team is better with Tebow than Orton. Hopefully by season's end, they will know if the team is showing enough progress with Tebow behind center to keep him. You really need a season's worth to determine if this offense is capable of being competitive with good teams.

Only took 3 quarters. Worst NFL QB, I have ever seen.

The Broncos are 3-1 with Tebow as their starter this season. Since the start of last season, Denver is 4-3 with Tebow as its starter and 4-14 with Kyle Orton as the starter.

Did you ever watch Orton? And to say the Broncos are winning despite Tebow is stupid. The offense is built around his style of play now. He runs the option, which makes him pretty important in reading the defense and selling the run. The Broncos lead the league in rushing since he's been starting. That leads to clock control, which leads to a rested defense. 3 and out Orton had the opposite effect.

I'm not saying the guy is the QB of the future for the Broncos, but the hyperbole of a bunch of stat readers is pathetic. He had 8 attempts and three drops if I counted correctly.

I think Weezy and I are the only ones here that know anything about the Broncos outside of Tebow. Orton is a better pure passing quarterback than Tebow, but he is the anti-Tebow when it comes to everything else. I'm ecstatic that the Broncos have won the last two games, but I don't see the option offense being successful the rest of the way, especially against good defenses. But, the Broncos are 3-1 since the QB switch, and at the end of the day, the numbers in the win column are what matters, not individual stats.

I don't expect the Broncos to beat the Jets. But that won't be an indictment against Tebow since I doubt Orton would have any chance against them as well.

He's getting better as a passer, which is what you are hoping for. He threw I think 1 horrible ball today that was in the dirt. I applaud Fox for switching up the offense. But I would prefer Tebow to attempt 15-20 passes a game to see if he can improve in game action as a passer. (I also understand that he is playing to win games).

On a side note, Von Miller is living up to the hype as a pass rusher.

I'm not expecting them to beat the Jets either, but I'm hoping they won't have alot of time to prepare for the Broncos option attack on a short week. It would also help if either McGahee or Moreno is back by Thursday, but Ball did a pretty dang good job in relief for them today.

And yeah, Miller is a BEAST!! Best draft pick by the Broncos in quiet a while.
