Souce's Coffee Discussion Thread

It's best on plain vanilla but really good on chocolate. I haven't tried it on Chunky Monkey Limon Peach Double Russian Mocha Walnut Rocky Road Cherry Banana Split.

I've heard that is good too. What does it taste like?
I don’t know how to describe flavor, other than that I like or dislike something. We need @Behr for that.

I think we use a rub with coffee, brown sugar (just a little), ground chili peppers, maybe a pinch of cinnamon? So kind of a smoky taste with the slightest bit of sweet/bitter going on?

That sounds pretty good. Might be time to experiment!

You should know me better than that. Coffee grounds belong in the trash can, not on a steak.

It adds a nice charred flavor that's actually not bad. You can use instant or regular but it's best if it's ground fine. Actual flavor depends what all you mix in with them.

Coffee grounds, smoked paprika, brown sugar and some heat like cayenne or crushed red pepper all are a must. Mustard powder, garlic powder, onion powder, coriander, dried oregano or Rosemary will all work good. And obviously salt and pepper.

I wrote ground coffee, not coffee grounds. At least I think I did.

Anyway, I was @‘ing you for your ability to describe flavors, at which I’m pretty sucky. “Nice charred” was one of the things I was flailing at, so thanks! 1623257398561.gif

  • Loretta Lynn : [in a radio interview] Shoot, we've been driving so much, I don't know where I am half the time. But it's fun. We sing, and talk, and Doo - that's my husband - he'll get to acting horny.
    Speedy West : [shocked] What!
Loretta Lynn : And the more I laugh, the hornier he gets, and then he'll say, "Loretta, spread me up another one of them baloney sandwiches!"
Radio station manager : [later] I don't know where in the hell you think you are, lady, but that kind of smut don't go in this part of the country!
Loretta Lynn : I didn't know it was dirty! I thought "horny" meant cuttin' up and acting silly!
