It is pretty sad, as Volunteer fans, that all we have to hold onto is our past and what we used to be. That really sucks.

Remember in 2006 when OSU was supposedly a shoe in to win the National Title? Hell they even thought of giving Michigan a rematch because the Big 10 was so awesome. UF preceded to put the worst ass stomping on them that they had handed out to a "major" program that year. THE Ohio State University is criminally overrated almost every year until they run into a legit opponent and get curbstomped. Can UT beat Ohio State?
OK Tenn fans, Oregonlive.com is a horrible place to go, 99% of UO fans won't go to that site. Try educk.com or oregon.rivals.com. The Orag.com as it is known to us, is full of OSewe fans pretending to be UO fans and 10 yo UO fans. I promise you will thank me if you head over to another site.
Oh and for real reporting try the registerguard.com, again oregonlive sucks.
big difference losing your rb vs your qb.....I would think EVEN a tennessee fan would realize that. A moderator no less.....can't wait to wipe that smile off your face
you will still have excuses I am sure though....
That RB was twice the player your QB will ever be in college or in the NFL. And we relied on our RBs that year - or I guess you don't remember Peyton had just graduated and we had a new QB, smart one.
This is exactly right. I plead with UT fans. Be proud of your awesome tradition, and your stadium, and all that. You have the right to be. However, please do not smack talk programs that "weren't good before 1990, but have been better than you for 10 years." I think Oregon fans really want to like and respect the Volunteers, but we won't be able to if you start acting like Washington fans.
Not all programs have the fortune of being "traditional powers." But I'm proud of my ducks for finding their own unique path this past decade, and making their mark on the college football landscape. Fifteen years ago, this game would be an afterthought to UT.
Be optimistic about the present and future, but don't live solely in the past.
UT deserves respect, and we don't really care what you think about the Huskies. The truth is, if you don't want to show us respect off the field we will beat it out of you on the field, that goes for every team in college football.
No doubt this will be the hardest hitting, most physical game you play this season. Win or Lose somebody is gonna get hit in the mouth :salute:

That 1960 Liberty Bowl trophy sure is scary. Especially when you consider that they lost that game 41-12 to Penn State. How the hell did they get a trophy for that?
Oregon also lost the 1990 Freedom Bowl 32-31 to Oklahoma St and have a trophy for that too. The 1996 Cotton Bowl was a 38-6 pasting by Colorado. What the hell?

Our running game will help us a lot since your starting defensive line is lighter (similar to the Colts) so we should get some decent push off the line. .
2) Tennessee CLAIMS 6 National Titles, I promise you not all of them are legitimate. Really, I'd say we have 3 REAL and 3 BS ones. You guys CLAIM 0. Yep, not even a BS one.
3) You all have had a pretty good run since 1995. Take the last 14 years away from you guys and you are barely a .500 team. (425-409) Tennessee already had 5 CLAIMED National Titles by that point, with one more (and first ever BCS) LEGIT National Title 3 years later.
I know you guys are relatively new to this whole "winning thing", but please, do yourselves a favor and show a little class to the "Old Guard", even when they have a couple bad years. It wouldn't take more than a few bad years recruiting, a coaching mistake, or an NCAA penalty for your own beloved Ducks to quack their way back to mediocrity.
