I don't want to add to the mattress burning, but after looking back on everything through his sophomore year, it's not overly impressive what he's done... and I understand the thumb injury and that he was apparently not feeling well today. Doesn't matter.

Does he need two ridiculous WRs (Hunter and Rogers) out there and play against a weak out of conference team to do anything? It seems to me having Da'Rick Rogers, a solid TE with Rivera and a good slot WR in Arnett... that would be enough if he was truly an All SEC type QB. He couldn't score on UGA. He struggled against Florida, Vanderbilt and Kentucky. He still throws TERRIBLE, inexcusable INTs and shows no progression against throwing more in the future (especially against zone defenses and in the redzone). Against UK he pretty much threw it in the direction of Rogers or threw it into the 3rd row seats.

I was on the Bray bandwagon early on this year, but after looking back.. what has he really done? Beat up on Cincinnati? :clapping:

Bray played bad today. He also had strep throat.

Bray is not the problem. The fact he has A) no running game and B) no other wide receiver makes him look bad when he's not the issue.

Really? Overrated? And who the hell is better? Simms? Joke.. Worley? Hasn't played enough..

Bray is good, and having a broken thumb doesn't help his cause.. You ever try to throw with a broken thumb? Let alone play any SEC team and try and make something happen? No.. You really don't have any room to say hes overrated when he was out half the season and still came back and tried to help us win.. It really comes down to his WRs not helping him with dropping balls, and an OC who wont let him get in a rythem with trying to run the ball even though were 117th in the nation..

I agree with the excuse makers (Bray being sick, hurt or whatever), however yes he is overated by Vol fans. He is not overated by the media. They have not crowned him. They should not either, he has a lot of work to do.

God, we have the most ignorant fan base in the nation. The village idiots are running amuck.

We obviously have a plethora of issues to deal with on this team, but the one that puzzles me most is the offensive line. How they can play so soft...so poorly and get so little push is hard to explain. A solid running game would have been a life saver today.

He looked out of sync with the offense today. But there were several drops by the WRs too. Not to mention no running game (again). He isn't the second coming of Peyton Manning, but he had a bad day today and no one really did much to help him out, besides Neal. I bet his thumb is bothering him more than he led on too.

He has not proven anything against real SEC competition. Many on here thought he was the next Manning and Hunter was the next MegaTron.

If you take out Montana, Cincinnati and Buffalo his stats look like this:

75 of 152 49% 6 TDs, 6 INTs

And two of those games he has played with a broken thumb. I fail to see your point. He's also only a sophomore.

Besides UF & part of UGA, those are the only 3 games he played without the issue of a broken thumb.

Idiotic thread is idiotic.

Never said we had anything better. Just saying he's over-rated based on inflated #s against weaker teams.

He hasn't done anything at all yet. His best game/win of his career is Cinci. With 2 NFL receivers.

Wonderful assessment OP. And when I say wonderful I actually mean utterly asinine.

Strep throat was why Bray played poorly.
Being one-dimensional on offense is why we lost.

Being one dimensional is how UK won. If the kid is sick, he's sick. Sounds like the coaches should've paid more attention to that. I think Bray will be fine. The coaching is what worries me.
