Statistics are fun. But he took us to the SEC Championship the year before he was fired......so. We haven't had so much as a sniff since. That upheaval every since then that you are blaming our record on, we did that by firing him.

I'm not sure anyone noticed that Duke beat a ranked team today. They have a pretty awesome coach. I happen to believe that Fulmer is a VFL; but the reality is that CPF owes most of his success (as a head coach and as a big time recruiter) to the guy coaching Duke today.

A certain QB came to UT to be coached by David Cutcliffe. His brother also chose to be coached by CDC. Recruiting becomes pretty easy when recruits have a chance to play on a team with a guy named Peyton Manning. Recruiting dropped off when Peyton's teammates finished their eligibility a few years after Peyton entered the NFL.

Cutcliffe and his discipline was gone and the downward spiral was noticeable. When Cutcliffe returned for 2 years, the results confirmed in my mind where Fulmer's success was generated.

I like CPF and I do believe he is a VFL; however he was not going to bring the program back to prominence.

Because he only went 11-2 with 7-1 conference record and blew out Michigan in the bowl game? Yeah, I know we lost the SEC Championship game that year. But, if you want to fire someone with that record, what would you do about Kiffin, Dooley and Jones with their records?

Sorry if facts are inconvenient to you and your argument, but if our firing of Phil (who I should say for the record I hold in the highest regard) is the cause of our terrible records ever since, then what do we blame on the two 5-win seasons we had during the last 4 seasons while he was still our head coach?

Hoptown hates Fulmer. There is no convincing him Fulmer did anything good while he was HC.

One of those was the ADs fault because the loss to Wyoming wouldn't have happened if he wasn't fired 6 days before that day.

Asleep dreaming of the times Spurrier whipped him like a step child and those high status coaching jobs not being offered. Great man, won a NC, but probably grows tired of people bringing him into this conversation.

Right. And don't forget we had a 6-win season before that. So how does that forgive Fulmer's malaise that resulted in his dismissal?

Fulmer has amassed 0 wins during that time period as a head coach. He could have gone and taken a job at another school and maybe he would have done a great job and made us all regretful that we let him go. But he didn't. Why? Because, when all is said and done, his heart just wasn't in it when it came to being a cfb head coach. And that's fine. Most of us already knew that based on his last four seasons as head coach at UT.

Plus, who really looks for a job when you have $125,000.00 coming in each month. Fulmer's doing OK.

you aren't doing it but still trying to blame Fulmer after almost seven years is tired. In hindsight I wish he had been able to go out on his own terms because there has been no benefit in firing him.

No he would have lost 30-6 today! Why would anyone ever think Fulmer would beat Florida! He really looked good his last couple of years! And before anyone talks about the talent difference what was his record against Wyoming?

You make a good point.

Look, I love Phillip Fulmer. IMO, he deserves every penny of that money. I will always love the guy for what he accomplished at UT. I hate being put in a position where it might sound like I am knocking him. But parting ways with him was the right thing to do, IMO. I hated it, just like I hated it when we did it to Johnny Majors. But in both instances, it was the right decision.

Dumba$$ Hamilton told the team before the Wyming game that their coach would not be back after that year. They were in shock and of course would have lost. AD made the same mistake when Pearl was fired by informing the team before a big game. Impeccable timing!

Two great QBs for sure. Neither de-committed when CPF was fired, so I'm not so sure he was the reason they both committed to UT. Neither will ever compare to the two Manning QBs that chose to play for CDC.

Great coaches surround themselves with great assistants. Do you give Fulmer as much love when talking about Majors as you do Cutcliffe? If not, then it's obvious you're biased against Fulmer.

So, to sum up the board tonight: Second guess play calling. Blame players for missed plays (key tackles and the last kick). Blame officials for missed calls. Fire the staff. Blame those who fired Fulmer. Blame Fulmer for having slipped from winning a NC. Blame complacent sheep fans. Blame angry fire them all fans. Encourage players to tweet frustration and encourage transfers. Blame Kiffin. Hire Kiffin. Blame Dooley. Hire Gruden. Listen to Booger. The season is lost. The season is young. We are proud of the team. We are pissed at the coaches. We deserve this. We demand better. To hell with process, we demand results now. We should be contending in the 3d year. We had to rebuild the Dooley lack of recruiting. Fire Cheek.

Maybe we could hire the dream duo of Malzahn and Muschamp with Auburn's success this year. They should win the West and contend for a NC. Oh right..

Both averaged the same college record as Peyton, 11-2.
