as much as i hated the call in the 2000 game against FL on the Gaffney catch/non catch to win that game....the reality is that we pounded on FL all game long and settled for FG's while FL scored TD's. we score one or two TD's on any of those FG drives, we win, easily.
so the call was bad, but it wasn't what lost the game for us.

Catch or no catch it did not make/break the game. Don't forget it was like second down on the 3 with plenty of time.
The botched officiating and objectively indisputable clock management error a few years later, in the literal waning seconds to gift UT a field goal try, now that was a call that clearly caused the game to end in the wrong resulot.
