Pac-10 refs.

Worst refs in any sport. They regurally get affected by the home crowd. Expect at least one completely ridiculous homer call on sat. Hopefully we wont see a oklahoma/oregon repeat.

any way you slice it, the refs will not be the reason for either team winning or losing. as bad a call as that was against OU last season, they had plenty of other opportunities to win that game before that call ever happened.

Well, we havent gotten much love from SEC ref's lately either, but it happens. Should be a great game.

as much as i hated the call in the 2000 game against FL on the Gaffney catch/non catch to win that game....the reality is that we pounded on FL all game long and settled for FG's while FL scored TD's. we score one or two TD's on any of those FG drives, we win, easily.

so the call was bad, but it wasn't what lost the game for us.

i can now say that, 8 years later, with a straight face.:p

The game won't be close enough for the Pathetic 10 officials to help Cal.

But the point is appreciated, particularly coming from a PAC-10 fan. Hopefully, given last year's Oregon/OU debacle, the refs will be especially focused and diligent in getting the calls right.

I think he does have a point...there is a reason PAC 10 teams insist on having their officials in the own stadiums for OOC games.

Ugh... that game makes me sick. But I hope we can get back to muscling good teams around again like we did that day.

I guess the reason why it hasn't been a big topic on this board is that real football fans don't waste too much time talking about things that their team can't control, coaches can't account for, etc. Even with weather, you can change your gameplan. Bad calls? Nothing you can do. You can complain afterwards if you feel like it, but that is about it.

So let's play some football and let the chips fall (out of Longshore's teeth) where they may!

Catch or no catch it did not make/break the game. Don't forget it was like second down on the 3 with plenty of time.

The botched officiating and objectively indisputable clock management error a few years later, in the literal waning seconds to gift UT a field goal try, now that was a call that clearly caused the game to end in the wrong resulot.

One bad game doesn’t make or break an entire conference full of officials. Droski is continuing his attempt to cushion your eventual loss.
