Yes we should have been what the majority of the defensive line and O-line are first time starters/freshmen and the front 7 and going into the game with that mentality I can see why the way we played

1: In college, you don't lose a game on purpose. It doesn't give you any advantage whatsoever.
2: Maybe the coach is playing all these freshmen because your upperclassmen simply aren't buying into the system so he is starting over (basically) with those who want to actually rep UT and give everything they have. That kind of thing happens often when a new regime comes in and tries to right the ship and tightens things up. When players have not previously been held to a higher standard and then they suddenly are you inevitably have those players who will just stick up the middle finger and think they can do what they want to do because they are big man on campus and "who is going to sit me when there's a freshman behind me?".

Step back (yes, it's very hard to do) and breathe and see how things play out before the knee jerk reaction sets you back that much further.

I'll admit, yesterday was strange. How slow we played, the coaches reactions. The only emotions I seen was of Tee and Jim in the press box at the end of the game long like they couldn't agree with each other

JG had ALL DAY to throw the football on most snaps despite our revolving door OL scheme he just couldn’t see the open receivers downfield. Despite 9 months of offseason coaching from some of the best in the business he hasn’t improved at all.

The majority consensus before the season began was that JG had to take a major step forward for us to win 6 or more games this season. The jury is in on JG time to put Maurer in and invest in the true Frosh. Can’t do any worse than the proven losing trajectory we’re on now.

Most of JG passes are off. He never gives his receivers ability to run, leads the receiver, etc. Cannot read defenses. Not SEC quality.

It's time to weed out the players who quit during games. Move them to the scout team and leave them there. Show the fans you are truly concerned and giving players who have desire and heart a chance to play.

What do you think the attendance for the Vanderbilt game in Neyland Stadium will be if Tennessee has 0-2 wins? I bet 45,000 would show up and most of them would be Vanderbilt fans.

We are a crazy bunch, we refuse to give up on this program regardless of how many times it kicks us in the nuts. It’s hard to say. I would hope that these selfish players realize that this program is bigger than them and they play with more passion and respond to coaching better.

I hope it doesn’t get to that point.

If I were Pruitt, I would get Al Wilson to come in and talk to this team without the coaches about the privilege it is to be a Tennessee Volunteer and they should be proud of those proud of those Orange Jerseys and represent it with maximum passion and effort.

This isn’t Butch’s problem. Over half of UT’s players never even met Butch or his S&C program. And many of the players who were here under Butch (Calloway, Jennings, Bituli, etc) are not the problem. This loss to a team that only had 23 three star players on roster to work with, the rest two stars, is squarely on Pruitt.

Except, the team also did their best to get Lyle fired. To me it is obvious, unless things change, they are doing their best to get CJP fired now.
Think about it, after they got mad at Lyle, they showed no effort or desire to win. I truly do feel sorry for for anyone who needs to motivate anyone who is bound and determined to make you fail. The sad part it is these kids have been given so much. But they will still cut off their nose to spite their face.
