Something I noticed last night about Pete Carroll, and I have championed on here for quite a long time now...

When USC was down 21-0 in the second quarter, he was ALL OVER HIS players, HIS coaches, HIS co-ordinators, hell at one point he was even getting onto the equipment guys!!! (and USC almost came back and won that game)

When Fulmer was down 21-0 against Florida, he was "playing" with his hat, fiddling with the headset, etc...not at all fired up or getting with any coach or player. (and UT scored one late TD to keep it from being a shut out)

In my opinion, this is what really bothers me about Fulmer the most...I feel that man CAN really coach a team, I just feel that he has lost that great desire and "fire" to do so...your thoughts?

I'm pretty sure our "thoughts" can be summarized in one of the 400000000 other threads identical to this one.

losing to FLorida and Alabama bother me infiintely more than anything he does on the sideline.

When has he ever been the type to go ballistic on the sidelines?

And if I say it once, I've said it 20 times...the most overblown part of coaching is sideline demeanor.

I agree. The worst thing a coach can try and do is be someone they aren't.

I was rather entertained by the UAB game posts about Fulmer's newfound fire on the sideline.

My biggest concern with our sideline compared to others is that other teams' players study playbooks, talk with coordinators, talk amongst each other. It seems more often than not, our's go and hang out until they get thrown back out there. No urgency. Crompton is rarely on the phone and I never see him checking out a playbook.

Phil has always had a business like approach. Whether you like it or not thats him, he's not changing. Although i've seen more animation out of him this year. He's feeling the heat no doubt.

If you knew what most of those conversations sound like after a guy has screwed up, you'd understand exactly why he's never on the phone.

Do yourself a favor and look at a Johnny Majors sideline.

If Tennessee wasn't playing well, players and coaches were constantly conferencing to make corrections so Johnny wouldn't as pissed.

If Tennessee was playing well... players and coaches were constantly conferencing to continue to make Johnny not as pissed.

Of coarse we also had some top notch assistants back in the day that could pick up a dry-erase board and go to work.
