and that is patience.

After everything that happened in the 2009 class and seeing what they could do in a few months, it spoiled me like many others on here and other places. This staff is in no hurry just to take a player and wants to make sure that they get "their guy". That means any player, at any position, IMO.

So, it's time for me to sit back and enjoy the ride, and quit worrying about who we have right now. Because honestly, it doesn't matter right now, it matters in February. I would rather finish with a Top class, than to have the Top class in July and not be able to hold on to it.

dude I've agreed with that sentiment since last December. This board however is just a little bit schizophrenic when it comes to this staff and especially their recruiting. High on guys one day cold the next. The ever-present "We need this kid" comment, and the always laughable "I'd except this scenario" (as if anyone's asking). Anywho I think waiting till signing day to fire the staff or elect them all co-mayors is at least the prudent thing to do.

Amen! The fans of the other teams that have signed players that this staff is targeting are the ones who should be worried. Not us.

i agree. this place blew up with recruiting hysteria after BB. everyone expected such excitement on a monthly basis and that's just not gonna happen. if it taught me one thing, i learned that with this staff, you just never know.

I would be worried at this point if we weren't still playing catch up. Our coaches are still behind on the 2010 kids, so we have to be patient while they make up that time. We'll get players.

A year from now, our 2011 class should be looking pretty good.

You've got to be impressed by how many made it onto campus and were involved in summer workouts. I think Kiff goes after students too. Obviously a player that can't cut it academically is an all around loss for the program. Hoping Green comes through, little thin on WR.

Win the 1st two games and really compete against the gators they will have to put in extra phone lines to take all the commits.

I am curious about something from you guys who are way smarter than me on recruiting....

I keep reading everywhere and even from the Vols players summer workouts.....about our "new offensive scheme" etc, etc.....and many of the VN saying recruits will wait and see what how they will fit in to our "new offense".....some of our current players have even said how "simple" the new system is.....and I think I even read CLK making similiar comments (cant recall, I have read alot).....so anyway, here is my questions keeping this in mind....

We've all fussed at times how predictable we have been at times (ok, alot IMO).....but arent we sending a message based on the above that we will be more predictable than ever? Is our system really going to be that "simple"?.....

I guess what I am asking.....how can our offensive system be "simple" and yet compete in the SEC against some of these high powered defenses? When I look at our schedule.....it's a tough one! I just have a hard time believing that CLK's offense isnt going to be more than they are letting on with.....your thoughts?

(The posed question probably should be a new thread discussion, I suppose but since I am fairly new I dont think it will let me)

It basically USC offense you have seen the last 6 or 7 years. There is a explanation about the offense from Norm Chow on this board somewhere. I am to lazy to find. The key is exacution and being able to run the football.

The key to winning football games at any level is being able to run the ball and play great defense. I think we are on the way to doing that. Monte Kiffin will have a pretty good defense. I think we have the backs to run the ball here now. I do think the Oline is behind. Depth is a concern. We will see how the season plays out up front. We have to be able to throw the ball a little on first down and keep opposing defense's honest.

I am just guessing but I would think the simplicity is in the QB and WR reads as well as zone blocking in the running game. Still speculating but I bet it will be a lot of slants. I am thinking Denver Broncos with a less complex passing attack.
