Something about an internal memo?

Actually quite juvenile and a waste of time to see DW send a tweet like that defending something that “didn’t happen.”

Please stay off the tweeter box, DW.
Sounds like a guy protecting his brand. I have no problem with him spending 30 seconds to stop a lie that if left to grow, would damage UTs reputation. Put those writers of click bait on notice that he will call them out.

I suspect that our last AD was not to involved with the day to day activities.of the workers in the department but this AD might be a micro manager. Just a guess.

What do you think UT’s reputation is right now? People are turning our power T into the McDonald’s arches. Im not sure memo-gate is moving the needle much on UT’s reputation either way.

White looks to be trying to control the narrative and the conversation, by buttoning up the leakage of information (some people would refer to them as sources), particularly as some of the ugly details of the admitted Level I and Level IIs begin to get circulated within the department as well as any former employee litigation, hoping to establish an "official" portal for all information that he, Blonde Donde, and their internal external legal beagels can control. With the athletic department still lurking along with minimal credibility, not exactly a source of objective information, the clamp down on the information may make the situation worse, not better, may not have any effect at all, but UTAD isn't exactly an Oak Ridge nuclear lab full of classified national security secrets, but it does often appear as one of those toxic waste piles and hot gardens where dangerous unsafe radioactive sludge and spent fuels get dumped for permanent storage.

Seems to me, based on very limited evidence thus far, that he's one of those rare leaders who can keep focus on the future, the big picture, and the path to get there, while still being able to handle a lot of the details of ongoing operations. That's not a common combination of talents.

And that means he may have the capacity of a micro manager, but without the flaws (can't see the bigger picture, doesn't know when to let the little stuff slide).

Don't know. Could be a bad appraisal. Time will tell. So far, though, his mental agility seems pretty impressive.

So you assume he is a micromanager because he is doing his job, unlike previous staff? A director should know what is going on in all facets of his department. He should be checking up on his staff and giving direction that ensure the programs are where they need to be, it is literally in the job description. You can also call it leadership.

How is clamping down on false reports and leaks not a good thing? 🙄

Much like everyone when they first arrive in the athletic department in Knoxville, there are only two possible receptions from us:

1) Uber genius that is 5 steps ahead of everyone in the freaking world!

2) Terrible human and complete moran that can’t do anything right.

It’s a shame we can never have a normal person work here.
