Cause his reporting on recruiting tonight makes it look like he needs some attention and he is gonna keep throwing the Vols under the bus until he gets some. More proof that newspapers are becoming irrelevant :fool:.

Everybody talked about giving Lane time, and this doesn't happen over time and now everybody is getting ancy because the next Reggie Bush has not committed to us, everybody just needs to relax, for now atleast, now this time next year if we are talking about a 20-30 class then it might be time to panic but right now no.

We'd hear nothing of this if Fulmer was still here, and not only because none of these premier guys would have visited this weekend.

Even Lane said they are doing their best with what little time they have been together...It's hard to stir a kid away after just a few weeks of meeting these coaches when other coaches have been after them for a couple of years now...I have no doubt the next few years will yield some monsterous recruiting hauls and We'll start getting some of that swagger back.

The Fulmerites are coming out, reminds me of cockroaches, they lurk in the dark and as soon as the lights are on they scatter and go undercover.

they could continue the Philmer tradition of making fb unpleasant this fall if they pile on after every mistake/loss

I am by no means trying to throw Kiffin under the bus or say he is even close to a failure after just 2 months on the job.
But after all he has spent on his staff you think he would have a measurably better class than Gene Chizick.
But next year is where the rubber meets the road.

noone has signed with Auburn yet! but i would say that the recruiting that aubrun is doing has more to do with Trooper than it does chizik. I dont care what anyone says that guy is one hell of a recruiter and a pretty good position coach as well. I wish he would of stayed with us JMO though

Yeah someone needs to give him some love. His name is Bubba down at the Knox County Jail. He looks a little sweet anyway. I wonder if he or Adams ever played any game:eek:lol: Maybe cheerleaders.

P.S. don't drop the soap.

I agree. Really this conversation should happen after NSD.

But we supposedly have the best recruiting staff in the country. Why shgould Trooper be beating us on guy we want?

Again, though - this is premature. We may end up getting guys that look they are going to Auburn and other places.

you have no idea what's going. I didn't want to single you out, but you are just asking for it with these comments.

Auburn is stealing recruits from ****ing TROY!!!!

They are getting guys this staff wouldn't cough on!

TN's class is so much better than Auburn's and it's not even close.

thread on VQ----

these are guys Auburn's new staff has landed

[Daren Bates - offers from arkansas st and central arkansas
Nosa Eguae - no offers from any of the instate powers, unless you consider Texas Tech a power
Anthony Gulley - offer from Troy
Izauea Lanier - Miss St and Troy
Clint Moseley - UAB , South AL, Marshall
Tyrik Rollison - strong player - with good offers
John Sullen - Duke, Memphis , UAB
Jamar Travis - good offers
Demond Washington - Lousville, Memphis, Southern Miss]

Eric Gordon, Arthur Jeffrey, Mike Edwards, Nyshier Oliver, and James Green are Kiffin's commits.

I'll take our guys over Chizik's kids 100% of the time.

Trooper is a shiite stirrer (as opposed to a sunni stirrer, that is).

If he was still coaching here i doubt you would be saying that. cuz say what you want and you're entitled to your opinion but when he coached running backs they improved and when he coached recievers their stats and route running improved. I am glad that we have eddie gran and frank wilson though! I feel that they will be great recruiters and even better coaches here at tennessee!

I think what really got my goat was his line that recruits had "soured" on UT. These were guys who were here for visits that committed elsewhere or commits who visited other schools. "Soured" really? Struck me as something someone who was trying to "poison the well" might say:furious3:.

The fat lady ain't sung yet.

Oh. That must be why some of them appear to be headed to Auburn, right?

Come on guys. Fulmer, no Fulmer... don't pretend like this is good or even acceptable. Fulmer is just a diversion because you guys don't want to see what's happening. I don't either but it is. We're down to hoping for a signing day miracle. As I've been trying to tell people for awhile now, CLK can't afford a mulligan... and especially with OL's.

Hall was hosted by redshirt freshman offensive lineman Preston Bailey, who told Hall the Vols are in desperate need of offensive linemen. Immediate playing time is a real factor for Hall.

“That’s exactly what I’m looking for in a school,” Hall said. “When (Bailey) said that it was just words, but when you actually look at the depth chart it’s a fact.

“It’s not just him or the coaches talking. It’s actually there to see.”

I've been arguing with several people for a few days now that UT is at critical mass with OL's... they denied it. Here CLK and staff are using it as a selling point.

Saban pulled down the 10th ranked class in about the same amount of time AND by pulling more guys in rather than just hanging on to guys. Meyer got the 15th ranked class with only 18 players in his first year. Nutt had the 29th ranked class last year fresh off being fired.

Compared to guys who are successfully turning programs around, UT's new coaches are NOT doing well.

Yes we know your view. Do you think if you repeat enough times it will have more validity even though we don't know yet what this years recruiting class will look like? :clapping:

Yeah, but, in the SEC, those guys were going against Fulmer (and others) as opposed to Kiffin going up against those guys - not apples & oranges.

Obviously, I disagree about having no idea about what is going on.
But I will say that any criticism (or praise) is premature until NSD. So I am going to wait till then, otherwise I may look like a fool criticising a staff that got Marlon Brown and Sam Montgomery.

The issue was not if we have or don't have the linemen. The issue is that you claim that if we don't get the best linemen in the country immediately that Kiffin will fail for the next three or four years.

That is a dumb and naive stance.

I'd take a top 25 class recruited and developed by Kiffin over a top 5 class from Fulmer.

And this would be different than the previous anti-Fulmer people how??
