there is more to the senior year than football. and if someone can't make 20 million last then they have serious financial problems. yeah his house wouldn't be shown on cribs or wouldn't have a car on unique whips. but hey he wouldn't be worried about $$

Have you seen how many people who win the lottery for like 50-100 million dollars end up broke?

I understand 20 million is a lot of money but you see NFL players getting offered 50 million holding out. There is absolutely no way Eric Berry comes back in my opinion. Really, I think it's more of a fact that he won't come back but I don't know him personally. I do know what he would be given and why would Lane refer Berry as a senior and let him run through the T if Berry was going to return? That also doesn't make sense.

Anymore?

If that's the only one you can find then schools aren't offering 8th grade kids. One school is and you said I wouldn't be a good coach because I wouldn't offer an 8th grader. You really think Hawaii's coach is that good? If you're a good coach, you wouldn't need to offer 8th graders because proven 17 and 18 year olds want to play for you.
umm i wasn't the one that said you wouldn't be a good coach.. go read again.

besides you didn't say it had to be from a 'good' coach.

so he may not have been chosen 1st overall as well right?

Huh? I highly doubt Eric Berry will be the number one overall pick but he will be a top 5 pick. I am done trying to convince you that he isn't coming back man. If you want to have your hopes dashed then so be it. Eric Berry isn't passing up 50 million. He is already gone. Lane Kiffin's quotes have pretty much made it clear to me.

Yeah my bad. It was directed to the person who said it. If that's the only offer that can be found though, it's not a regular thing. Again, not directed to you.

nah sorry man i meant Bradford might not have been chosen 1st overall. since it was mock drafts that had him 1st overall as well.
I actually have very small hopes of him coming back. I just get annoyed when people preach that there is ZERO chance that he does.

I hope he goes. It'd be a flat out dumb decision to comeback for a rebuilding project and risk injury when he can get a big fat guaranteed contract this year, something that may be off the table next year when the collective bargaining agreement expires.
Sometimes there are more important things than money.

Here's the deal....

Eric Berry's parents need to take out a $2 million insurance policy on EB's future. They can apply for loans and borrow against the insurance policy. When EB gets drafted, they pay back the loan that got them through this season. If the unforeseeable happens and EB doesn't ever go pro, he has an insurance policy he will collect and payoff his parents loan.

Is this legal? I know you can do it with whole life insurance.

legal? Probably but it's not very smart. Go pro, get the money and don't worry about going into debt to play a free season of college ball

Not quite sure if they can borrow against the insurance policy. I do know that Jason Allen came really close to collecting on his insurance policy.

You're literally in debt, but you've mitigated all risk. The debt is a non-issue.

I just dont see the money argument. There is a point in which you can't spend all the money. The only reason I could see him leaving would be for his parents. but his dad has said that they are ok.
Jason Allen was never the same after he came back for his senior season. Athletes only have as set number of season in them before their body craps out so every year he is not getting payed to play he's losing millions. He has nothing left to accomplish at the college level because there is no national championship looming out. He is guaranteed millions no matter what happens to him next season if he goes pro. I bet you'd be shocked at the number of athletes who are broke shortly after their careers are over. Stop living in a dream world, he's gone. He'd be a complete idiot to come back.

allen actually still went 1st round, 16th overall. 6 yr 24 mil contract.
but like i told someone else. i'm not hopeful that he stays but i also am not saying zero percent chance that he does stay.

Peyton didn't have a family who needed financial help, like Berry does. His family was already doing just fine. Berry needs to do this for family, even though his parents have told him not to let their financial situation influence his decision.

all of this "his parents need the money" is just plain crazy where is the proof that they need money and do you know them.maybe they want him to finish school maybe the dont. maybe they want him to go pro maybe they dont until i here it out of james berry's mouth it is just speculation.

I find it Ironic that the video is set the Kenny Chesney's song when Kenny is a freakin' Gay-tor fan and Teabag lover!!!!!!!!!!!

Kenny Chesney is a Gator fan? What about his song "Touchdown Tennessee"?
