That's true.This being such an emotion filled story,the utmost of respect should have been shown for the school than to cross the lines.
I agree there are rules you must follow, but if Inky went to Hooker, then I think it's crappy. Inky's a GAM if he wants to talk to someone fully knowing theres an article to be wrote, then he can.
But I don't know the real story.
My wife happens to be the HIPAA compliance officer at her job.That could very well be the reason.You don't challenge HIPAA without consequences, that's for sure.Without knowing for certain, it would seem to me that UT's reluctance to grant access to Inky likely had to do with the school's responsibilities to the HIPPA act. Following the letter of those laws can seem unnecessarily restrictive, but they exist for a reason.
Hooker wanted to tell the story, I can respect that. But surely even he had to know he was on shaky ground.
