I felt bad for the guy. He was so excited when they lined up for that field goal. He pumped his fist and looked as if he were thinking, "We got this." One of the most heartbreaking losses I've had to deal with.

yeah. it would be like having the girl in your avy in your bed then you go to get in with her and Cody comes out of nowhere and slaps you in the face, preventing you from achieving the unthinkable.

Kiff has gone head to head with 2 that are regarded as the best..saban and cryer....and has been worst case step for step with them..
I personally think he won the coaching matchup both times. When he gets his personnel in, he will win where it counts..
And they both know they were outcoached badly by lane

In every phase of the game.
Well maybe not fg's.
Other than that.....ut was ready.
Just didn't bounce our way....

I am proud of how Tennessee has developed this year. Crompton seems to have finally turned a corner and is playing with heart and confidence. Each week Tennessee is getting better and finally playing 4 quarters of football, hard until the final whistle. So with that said...the post quoted sounds like a south carolina fan. HATINGBAMA..I know you love the Vols and are all Vol but that's something a Gamecock would say as an excuse for losing.

I like how CLK put it..."We played well enough to win, but we didn't".

I do wish CLK would have a Pete Carrol type of attitude sometimes. At this point in the season, we have nothing to lose. With the FG problems we were having, we might as well went for a fake or better yet never settled for the FG.

Thing is....If Tennessee gets "blown out" then "Kiffin can't coach and has a big mouth".

If Tennessee wins or barely loses to a rival team (for instance---both #1's, Alabama and Florida)....well, "the coach has a big mouth".

Rival fans are starting to run out of excuses.....

Pretty soon they're just gonna be running for cover.

No if UT wins or barely loses, they say well Bama had a bad game and was tired or had the flu blah blah blah BS. Or the media will even say we got dominated when it was actually the opposite HA

ESPN Radio, the Monday Morning QB show this morning mentioned the UT/BAMA game and spoke glowingly of UT and Kiffin!

They said that UT will be a force to be reckoned with when Kiffin gets his players in. Even the media is taking notice and our coaches have garnered respect.

Satan is all hype he is a terrible play caller.

So terrible his team has won 20 straight regular season games... And he's 27-8 since coming to Bama, rebuilding a program that had trouble even making it to the bowl in Shreveport. So terrible that he rebuilt LSU into a national champion, and he's doing the same thing at Bama. Yeah, he's bad. Real bad.

As long as you guys avoid Utah this year, you'll be okay.

Lol if we looking at records I believe the great Bill Curry was 26-10. When you break it down to the facts what has Satan done that was so great for all his talk about finishing you guys embarrassed the entire SEC by losing to UTAH. Thats all I have to say about the great coach can't say they were tired can you.

Come on guys. We didn't outcoach anyone. We can now coach WITH anyone and won't lose due to preparation or gametime decisions. We will now win or lose based upon execution and these guys prepare us to execute well.

That doesn't mean we have the upper hand on Saban. The guy is one of the best there is. Matching them is a feat and I believe we have done it.

But he does bring in the horses to play great defensive ball. The depth that they had to fall back on Saturday was amazing. Even so, we still managed to wear them down late in the game.

One thing to consider:
Saban's first year: Loses to LA-Monroe
Kiffin's first year: Plays two number national number one teams to the wire on the road.

Just thought it was an interesting contrast. Of course, if we were to loose to Memphis then that would even things up somewhat.

Come on guys. We didn't outcoach anyone

BPV..seriously...this is one of the most ludicrous statement you have ever made....what game were you watching. Kiffin put us in position to win with a masterful game plan...Saban sat on sideline and hoped his D could block a fg and lucky for him he had a guy 100 pounds heavier than our center and we had a gimpy kicker.
to say Kiffin didn't outcoach him is at best moronic.
