Sterling Johnson tried to commit to us the first time around, but Butch turned him away.

I would start with the Clemson DL guys.
Then quality LB/DBs available.
We had a good haul at OL including JUCOs but the OL from Rice is reportedly good. I'd imagine the OSU guy as well.
I'm not in favor of bringing in a QB for one season...that's a lot to learn in a little time. Of course every QB will be learning a new system with the coaching change.
Other than that, maybe the TE from Michigan.
None of the rest unless they were behind an NFL caliber starter.

TE is a position that we're pretty good at, especially with the addition of Wood-Anderson. I wouldn't use a scholarship from next year's class for a TE.

Give me a WR to throw into the mix. Someone with a low floor that can provide depth, has collegiate experience, and can be a reliable option in our passing game.

We have alot of Wide Receivers, but aside from Jennings and Calloway many of them have yet to really seperate themselves.

It's time for Tyler Byrd to go to defense.

Josh Palmer and Brandon Johnson have some breakout potential, but haven't shown much.

I personally have high hopes Jordan Murphy, but that's off of his HS tape. Same goes for Alontae Taylor.

Other than that I don't know who to be excited for. Alot of names, but not alot of proven and reliable targets. And on top of that, our starting QB needs to improve upon last year's performance.

Rice guy from Austin. I think we know where he ends up.

Take CJ Sanders and CJ Fuller or maybe a combination of one of those two with Kevin Feder.

Sanders has ties to TN. His dad, Chris, played for the Titans and he grew up in the Nashville area. Unfortunately he didn’t get his dad’s height (6’4 vs 5’8) but he still could be a solid kick returner for us.

I know the signing day was a little underwhelming for some fans but here are some available players who I believe could provide immediate impact or be quality rotation players in 2018- all just my opinion. I’m sure this list is subject to change. Anyway here are some guys right now in no particular order:

QB: Keller Chryst (Stanford), Wilton Speight (Michigan)
RB: CJ Fuller (Clemson), Tre Watson (California), Winston Dimel (Kansas State)
WR: CJ Sanders (Notre Dame), Raelon Singleton (Utah)
TE: Ian Bunting (Michigan), Kano Dillon (USF)
OL: Calvin Anderson (Rice), Kevin Feder (Ohio State)
DL: Sterling Johnson (Clemson), Jabril Robinson (Clemson)
LB: Ricky DeBerry (Oklahoma), Jahvoni Simmons (Virginia), Brannon Berry (Illinois State)
DB: Juwan Dowels (Syracuse), Khalil Oliver (Oregon), Kiy Hester (Rutgers), Zeke Walker (Indiana)
ST: Alim Muhammad (Holy Cross)

We need no QBs or RBs or TEs from the GradTransfer route. But both of those WRs listed are proven playmakers that would come in and make an impact right away. Especially Singleton from Utah - they made it a point to get the ball in his hands alot. And Sterling Johnson as a lane-clogging DT would be a good fit too. Even trying to get DeBerry at LB would add veteran depth in the middle with Kirkland Jr, and we dang sure need talented depth at LB considering injuries have wiped the whole group the last few seasons. Smh.

So I definitely vote to pursue WR-Singleton, and DT-Sterling Johnson, and LB-Rick DeBerry. Those 3 should 100% be pursued. Especially since we finished with a smaller class than we hoped for. And Zeke Walker - the DB outta Indiana - he's a solid, experienced player that I've seen play solidly against better talent. He's not a "stud", but he does check off most of the boxes across the board of being atleast slightly above average in most all categories. He'd be a solid depth rotation guy, that would fit well in our depleted secondary. He would come in and atleast push for 1 of the starting spots. We should definitely go hard after these 3 or 4. Fill a few more holes that we're thin on talent at. I really like the weapon Singleton would be tho.

Not sure if RB is a need and depending on the current scholarship numbers maybe there are other priorities it might not be feasible but CJ Fuller is a very good running back.

Thanks for the summary! Looking at the DBs,

Dowels 5-10, 160 too small for Pruitt.
Oliver committed to Missouri already.
Hester 6-0, 200, OK?
Walker 6-2, 195, OK?
Muhammad 5-10, 175 too small.

You named a lot of bodies. All of which have accomplished nothing so far despite horrible corner play last season.

Have any of the grad transfer CB's accomplished anything so far. That list looks like a bunch of guys who weren't good enough at their old school. I'd rather see what our current guys can do with new coaches than waste a scholly on a 1 year grad transfer. Way I look at it is we have what looks to be a vastly improved coaching staff over last year so our whole team is like a grad transfer. I'm not gonna judge any of them to harshly on last years results. I really think most of the assistant coaches gave up on last season before the season even started. Hard for kids to develop when their position coaches don't seem to care.

We need OL and a Mecole Hardeman do it all type. The kid who is on hold at South Carolina would be perfect.

I don't get the lack of respect that this fan base have for Brandon Johnson. How Brandon did show much when he led the team in catches and wr yards. Like what more do this kid have to do to earn respect?

No need to pursue a graduate transer WR. I think we have lots of talent at WR, and I can't wait to see what they can do under good coaching and a new system.

OL is the biggest area of concern. Need talent, experience, and depth. Wouldn't hurt to add a DL or LB either.

Position coaches didn’t care? I wish I had your blind faith. The truth is our roster lacks talent regardless of who the coach is

Bad defense, bad offense bad coaching. I’m holding off individual grades.

There’s little to respect for anyone on this roster based on last season. Let’s see how they grade after this season.
