Try USC. Rose Bowl last year, I sat with my Little Bro and his Friends in my "Tennessee Vols" Shirt, they were decked in Bright Orange Illinois Shirts, I got confused as one of them the entire day. USC fans let us have it all game, even though we would make legitimate, clever comebacks, they just respond as if they are brainiacs by shoving their peace fingers in your face. "Take that".....as I bury my face in my palms with disgust at such a bad insult. And that's not mentioning their Classy Fight Song I respected before the day, but after hearing it every play for 40 minutes I now have a burning rage for. We would hear it on a 4th and 23, and the punter was taking the field in the 4th quarter. That God Darn Fight song was being blarred, and their drunk fans bashed us. I was just happy we had Won earlier in the day, or else I might have had a few fights on my criminal resume.

Off topic, but if Chris Low is going to write a column for a national website, couldn't he do better than this pic that looks like it was stolen from the drivers license bureau?

Driver's license or sexual predator website?

I love it when we play "Down the Field."
Me too!

I also like "Fight Vols Fight". My son has a book called the UT Primer or something to that effect that has the words.

From Wiki

Fight Vols Fight

Fight, Vols fight with all your might,
For the Orange and White
Never falter, never yield
As we march on down the field
Keep Marching!
Let the Spirit of the Hill
Every Vol with courage fill
Your loyalty means our victory
So fight, Vols, fight!

He was dead on with Larry Munson of GA, most irritating voice of all, and that stupid "hobnail boot" comment, whatever the hell that is. Maybe I shouldn't have used the term "dead on" with regards to Munson though, he ain't long for this world.

I don't mind Munson. I respect his commentary. It's old school.

UGA needs to be higher because of their extremely obnoxious fans.

Oh my God I heard the funniest thing from a UGA fan last week! We were talking about UT UGA and he starts saying all this stuff about how nobody around the nation cares or even knows who UT is, so I say "that's just flat out wrong UT has been in the national spotlight for decades now we have so much tradition." His response to that is "whatever UGA has more tradition than UT."

HAHA I just stopped talking and looked at him! He was dead serious too, I didn't know what to say! So after a minute or two I go "are you kidding me?!" followed by like 10 minutes of bashing him for their 2 NCs and his non knowledge of CFB history. It was too funny, I've honestly never heard someone say something so flat out wrong, so obliviously stupid ever in my life. I got a good laugh out of that one.

i thought he made a good point that part of the folks who "hate" TN are (some) of their own fans.

I like "Rocky Top" and if it were played 4-5 times a game, it would be terrific. But 4-5 times every couple of minutes seems like the tradition is not built on the song, but rather on being as annoying and antagonistic as possible. Starts to get like nails on a chalkboard after you've heard it for the 10th time in the frist quarter.

I'm just hoping our band needs to take oxygen to get through the Florida game this year.

Its not so much UT, as it is the tradition of playing that song every time the Vols run a good play. Actually, lately, it doesn't even have to be a big play for that song to get blared out again. Seems like lately if the Vols just get positive yardage, or don't fumble or get a penalty, the song gets played.

You go from 2nd at 25 to 3rd and 23, we hear the song.
says the guy who holds hands with grown men each halftime to sway to a song that is built from a 3rd grade music class.

I will tell you one thing, we are absolutely looked down upon and HATED up here in Buckeye country... they are still crying about the time we beat them in the 1996 Citrus Bowl.
Alot of teams are still crying over what the VOLS did to them in the 90's. Hence all the hate.:dance2:

Says the fan of the team with the "Gator Chomp"

I remember the first UT/UF game I went to...I had to sit not far behind the UF band...I guarantee I heard "nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh...Go Gators" at least 50 times that game
