no matter your prior track record. This applies to any profession. You may be the best attorney in the world, but if you miss a deadline that costs a client a case, you get fired. If you are a doctor and screw up a surgery, you get fired. If you give up 400 yards passing to Vandy, you should get fired. Despite the financial ramifications and despite past success.

Given the situation I think it would be easier than some think. I'd made 4 phone calls within 2 hrs of the game ending and had 4 folks plus myself ready to cover a quarter of that total buyout. Of course I don't make the decisions over there. We could get it done, no doubt.

It was a tough loss, we've had two bad losses, but let's not overreact. There is something weirdly amusing about seeing (hearing) middle-aged, southern men stomping around, huffing and puffing, when the beloved state team loses a game. Jones is our coach--let him push on.

Not necessarily.
The annals of medicine are rife with case histories of surgeons who fumbled a procedure and passed the blame along to some assistant or other.
