Some of the worst officiating I've seen in a while.

If we're "going to lose anyway", why do the officials feel compelled to overlook our opponent's obvious penalties? Inquiring minds want to know. Maybe if CJP would file a complaint or two, they might show a bit more professionalism.

UGA was going to win this game. The refs made sure of that.

Holding? Nah...
Pass interference? Nah...
Targeting? Nah...

Lined up three inches behind the line? Penalty.

Oh, UGA doesn't have any timeouts left? Injured ref.

Maybe it was just my eyes, but this game seemed like it was over before it started.
Posts like this make us sound like Bammers. We lost to the better football team. Seemed like a much improved effort over last weekend though.

I missed the game, but saw the highlight of UGA's first TD. There was a pretty clear block in the back. He extended his arms and everything. I guess the officiating was just as bad at my kid's soccer game so it's just a general malaise and lack of professionalism among all officials?
Yeah that no call was obvious. So was the no call on the targeting. Pretty flagrant.

The refs are NOT why we lost.

The officiating was bad though. And it’s matters. Especially against knee-target chop block university aka UGA. Don’t believe me? Ask Tuttle. He will never be what he could have been due to “Georgia Football” aka knee targeting.

Cheap shots. Late hits. It’s what UGA does. That they get away with it consistently gets kids hurt. That’s the part I hate.

I repeat. We lost. And not because of the refs.

Does officiating have an impact on a game? Yes I does! In every sport!
2002 I swam for my high school,Shelby county championship meet at UofM, there are rules for how long you stay under water after a turn, I came up in the lead on the last leg of my 200 IM, if I won this I would’ve qualified for state, CBHsswimmer stayed under past the flags which should have dQed him, he swam past me and I placed 2nd , my parents argued with the officials, nobody saw anything , discourage dme and really brought me down, I swam like a rock the rest of the meet, it matters!
Should I have swam harder? Yes, should I have let it get to me? No. But the end result is what mattered.
Because this kid from cBhs was highly recruited and a star he got special treatment, some kid from north memphis who only swam for a few years wouldn’t be allowed to beat the all mighty CBHS swimmer . Oh well. Don’t tell me officiating has nothing to do with sports.its part of the game!

I agree, and said as much up thread. It's still not why we lost this week or last. I'm not excusing it. But, it doesn't make us any less a bad team either.
Agree as bad as we played against Florida that hold on the TD pass was just plain bad. DB’s mugging our receivers... those are gut punches

The non calls for targeting we've seen the last two weeks are the worst for me. A couple of them were blatant and right in front of the official. The refs are certainly a problem.

Even my 9-year old caught the missed targeting call AND the block in the back on their 1st touchdown run. It was bad enough to watch the missed calls but then I had to listen to him complain about them for the rest of the game. UGH...
So sorry to hear that, brother.

It's not right, but it is what it is. Better athletes and/or teams a lot of times do get the breaks over the lower tier athletes/teams. When we were a power team in the 1990s and early 2000s, we had breaks come our way. I don't like it, but that is the way it is. The better players and teams always get the benefit of a doubt.

Mean not always, but most of the time.
